I tried "early extortion" as well, but the AI wouldn't give even a lousy tundra town to me...
Memento must have had a lot of units early on to really scare the AI...
Managed to submit in time. Tried conquest BC but failed. Don't know where could improve. AIs did not cave at early stage, probably Phoney war could help to extort Cities . Key point was Colossus for early GA and long long ship chain. At late stage chain took a turn per day approximately. Anyhow:

I assume you timed the GA right after the switch to Republic? Around 1400BC?! How about the Lighthouse? Did you get it from a neighbor?
(In my game I didn't want to build two wonders, and I didn't want to rely on AI help for the Lighthouse. So I thought, combining Lighthouse with the GA would be good. Of course it meant a slightly later GA (700BC).)
And the interesting question is: did you build the FP at all?
In any case, BC victory or not: this game of yours is in a different league...!
I decided to build Colosus 900 BC at near lake City (number 4) to prepare massive assult. Republic was at 1550 BC. Lighthouse at 700 BC might be an option, but I want more swords/ Galleys ASAP. I calculatetd that FP will give not a good return for 200 Scields.
