happens to other people

I have a 27 i7 new generation

hello thanks

reducing the graphic quality takes a few turns in more crashes but it does the same

It's God's punishment for being a Mac user.

He doesn't know any better; he's strayed from the true path. :p

Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear that. Do you use DirectX 10 or 11? The game used to crash for me too once when I used that setting.

Hi. Which version do you have? Is it registered with Steam? Or is it the Campaign Edition from the Apple AppStore? In either case, it may be a good idea to delete it and download a fresh copy.

I have the Steam version and I already reistallato everything 'cause I changed the mac Wednesday

I run into the same issue. I have a new iMac with everything upgraded (faster processor, maxxed out ram, upgraded graphics card, etc.) and still, when my wife and I play hot seat, we will frequently run into crashes (by frequently I mean every 2nd or 3rd game will end in a crash). I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I'll give that a try. It's very frustrating. On a side note, I use the steam version of the game (just switched to Mac in April, had it for PC before that).

*edit:
Uninstalling the game on a Mac simply means deleting the file from "Applications" right?

Normally that's the case on a Mac. But Steam applications just have to be different!

They are installed in the hidden ~/Library folder, and the safest way to reinstall them is to right click the application name in the Steam Library tab, and select Delete Local Content. This should remove all the Steam stuff for Civ5 (leaving your existing mods and saves intact). Then it will download again from Steam next time you select it.

Thank you! When I got home last night, I was stumped on how to uninstall the program since it isn't actually in "Applications".

The Mac versions aren't as stable as the PC versions. I'm finding that I generally have more stable results running the PC version in VMWare Fusion running Windows 8 than the Mac versions. I don't crash that much, but I can pretty much count on one crash a session, if not more.

I have the same problem. The first night i installed the game i played about 6-7 hours. It crashed 2 times the next day and now it crashes once in every 5-6 turns. Is there any patch or some kind of fix for these problems?

I got crazy and try everything to play this game. I found a way to play longer time but still crashes. I fully zoomed and played 1-1.5 hours without crashing. I try to stay away from game menus. If i spend too much time on "Research" page or if i zoom out and try to play like that, it crashes immediately. Can't tell how sad i am.

Have you discussed this with Aspyr Support? You should be able to send them crash reports and get some feedback on what's wrong.

I only play a succession game I'm in involved in, but when my turnset comes up I play for several hours. And my hardware is pretty ancient - a first generation MacPro with an upgraded video card that can only run Lion, so I doubt if it's up to your standards.

I have opened up a ticket and they replied me back requesting my system information and saved game file. I just sent them those files and lets see how they are going to reply.

In the Aspyr Support email, there was an information about GameAgent.com where you can create an account and let them test your system if the game would run on your mac. I did that and all the requirements match except my vga card. Its Intel HD3000 series and now realized that this game does not support my vga card. Below is the screenshot from GameAgent.

I would cry if i wont be able to play this game.

The HD 3000 is a low-spec card for Civ5, but I'd be surprised if it just crashes.

I think the answer from Aspyr is going to be "your vga card is not supported"...

I'd accept to play with the lowest video settings but still...

Should i turn off V-Sync?
