Crash to BSOD

I pre-ordered, picked it up the day it came in. Wouldn't run off disk two like it said it would, tried one, got it to work. But now I find I'm a Firaxian beta tester AGAIN! YES! They suckered me in for the 4th time! First Civ III, then PTW, then the insult of C3C, now THIS! Yippie skippy!

I've got to be an idiot, expecting a CIV product to work out of the box. I mean, I really should know better, which is what is really pissing me off this time.

Game periodically crashes, BSOD. Locks up tight, must unplug system to get back to desktop. Upon retrying, game will crash in the same place. No, I don't have a screenshot because when I tried to do that, it crashed. This time, I'm playing India. It's also happened with Aztec, Greece, America --FDR (Why not Teddy?! I digress), and George.

Expected result: if I'm going to be a beta-tester for Firaxis, a paycheck. Otherwise, a frigging game that WORKS!

1.0G PC 4200 RAM
80G HD
Intel 925 chipset
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
ATI Radeon x300 128MB


I think I meet the system requirements.

Thanks, but none of that seems to apply to this concern. I'm not getting a failure to reder, or whatever, or any error message; I'm getting a "click," then a BSOD requiring a complete system restart.

...it does seem to do this upon a reload of a game, not the first time through....
