Crash when I destroy enemy civ - XP + patch

I have the patch that supposedly works and windows XP. My game always worked perfectly before the patch, and it seemed to be working perfectly after the patch, but when I killed the Persians' last unit, and the "civilization is destroyed" screen popped up, the program crashed. I retried it, and it has happened four times now. Any ideas on this one?

I figured out what it was. The civilization's only remaining settler was in a ship, and when I sunk it that destroyed their civilization and made the game crash. I got around it by sinking the ship before taking their last city, but this is still a bug.

Did you check some other posts here?? tech support of Firiax says the patch does not work under 2000/xp.

So wait for new patch, hehe
