As mentioned in the title, I am running Windows 8 in 32bit mode. This is because of my hardware not being up to 64bit spec:
AMD X2 5600+ (dual 2.81)
3gb system ram
Asus Gforce GTX 550ti (1gb)
Gigabyte mobo (not sure of specific model)
700w PSU (thermaltake)
500gb Western-Digital sata2 HDD
Those are the only really relevant specs that I can think of...
I have the following mods:
> R.E.D. v.23 (with hotfix)
> Treegrowth (G&K)
> Resource - Mint includes copper
> Mech.Inf with soldiers (standard version)
> Reforestation
> Units - Starting scout
> City limits
I am of course running all of these under the G&K expansion...
Now, I mentioned 'crashing', I wish I could be more specific, but that's not possible, as it seems to be relatively random... Most recently I encountered another Civ, and the attempt to switch to the diplo screen seemed to trigger it...
UPDATE: This same diplo-screen 'trigger' has occurred in a different game.
One big question - Starting the game, I start via the Dx10/11 option, not the Win8 one. I don't have a touch-screen (Desktop, not laptop), so I didn't see the point. Could this 'starting wrong version' thing be the cause of the instability?
UPDATE: I have tried starting a game via the Win8 start-mode. Not only are the touch-screen controls annoying, but the same diplo-screen crash (mentioned above) occurred in this mode too...
Thanks in advance for your time,
~JD
