I think you should be able to load cruise missles on to modern Battleships, AGEIS and nuke subs.
 
i would reccomend that battleships and destroyers and cruisers should have one cargo bay.. like you could load one marine or infantry unit of what so ever or cruise missle..
 
i disagree

i thinks its impossible to put a divison or even a brigade of infantry on for example a destroyer

although its prolly possible to jam them in there in the machineroom,in between pipes,on deck with some of the poor bastards hangin from the edge,between crates and etc it would be impossible,considering they all have to be fed,sleep and take a dump every once in a while

but i agree they should be able to take cruise missiles

also i think cruise missiles should have a range of at least 5

same as tac nukes(i think)
if tac nukes dont have range 5,they defenitly should
or maybe more
 
i think the problem is that we have to many different things but only 2 different ships

Missiles are a must for modern naval combat, and naval to land bombardment!
Some people will say its to much of an overkill, but that would be realistic, wouldnt it? And not to much of an overkill anyway, the way cruise missiles work in Civ 3 today!
 
I agree, cruise missiles should be loadable on Battles, Destroyers & AEGIS'. Leave subs with the ability to carry nukes though, that's enough for them.
 
yes,and for balance maybe like 2 cruise missiles on destroyeres and 5 on battle ship,hows that?
 
I think cruise missiles should be able to be loaded onto ships. If there were more types of ships, to represent the evolvment of naval warfare over the ages, then it could be that cruise missiles are able to be loaded onto the latter ones.
 
I think there should be a modern set of "missile ships", which do NOT carry any cruise missile units, but instead have a serious bombard range. You shouldn't be counting your ammo supplies in civ, nor building your weapons arrow by arrow.
 
correct me if im wrong but isnt the point of an AEGIS cruiser for defence/offence using missiles? so why doesnt the animation fire them? they only have a crappy cannon that fires. AEGIS cruisers should be rivaling battleships for supremacy as they have such cruise missiles that fire miiiiiles

Absolutely, in fact in the Risa and Rule, Aegis cruisers and missle destroyers have this capability and I use it very effectively, especially against other enemy ships, essentially rendering battleships obsolete.

Attack subs should also have this capability, I will have to check the RaR mod to see if that is set for subs. Almost all modern attack subs have this capability.
 
Yeah! Give us cruise missiles on ships in the modern age! Especially on the AEGIS!
 
I think Rhialto has REALLY hit the nail on the head. Building individual cruise missiles seems kinda silly to me (always has done), and would be better represented by special units and/or improvements capable of firing long-range missiles at opponents. Nukes, though, should still be built individually-simply for their sheer power :devil:
