Just posting two questions I could not answer:

1.How does culture work in Civ 5: Is there a way to conquer tiles by culture? Or to buy them from the enemy?

2. Are mods checked before they go to the mod overall screen? I Thought "yes" because there are only relatively view mods, but thought "no" because some of them whic are possible to download are not working.

Thanks in advance!:crazyeye:

Culture works in two ways, each city has a cultural output, which will expand its borders to any un-claimed space. The cities culture usually goes to space that have usable resources. The culture of your empire is a collection of culture the cities, when you reach a certain level of culture, you will get a social policy. These policies help expand and improve your empire/civ, in many different ways. (This sorta like governments from Civ III or Civics from CIV).

This is in purple on your top info bar: (current culture/goal culture)(+your entire city output)

Your culture will not expand into enemy territory, nor can you buy enemy territory.

You can use gold to purchase land near your city if it's unclaimed.
Edit: Great Artists can effectively "conquer tiles" by using his special ability "Culture Bomb". i forgot this one. thanks Kepi

I don't know about mods. Since i can't install them.

1. Great Artists can effectively "conquer tiles" by using his special ability "Culture Bomb".
2. While it is possible that mods you downloaded are broken, it's more likely that they're conflicting with other mods.
If you're using mods that alters the same files or even the same things in game they could conflict with each other. First look at all files in your mod folders and see if they have files with the same names (usual suspects are InGame.xml, DiploCorner.xml, DiploCorner.lua, NotificationLogPopup.lua). If they change the same files you might have to manually merge the changes so they work.
If they're NOT sharing the same files names BUT they are changing the same things in the game then only one mod's effect will be seen in game.
You could start by listing exactly what mods you're having problems, maybe even asking in the mod's thread for help if they have one one here on CivFanatics.

Awesome thank you! Have been probs with quite a view viri, I do not want to blame Civ 5 but you never know.

Another question though: Why do some of my ressources do not appear in the diplomacy screen, although they are not used? This only happens for some leaders, in the screen of other leaders they appear normally. Is there a maximum of way you must be next to the opponent?

If they have the resource already then it won't show up on the trade window. That's why it appears for some civs and not others.

That is logical! I think I have understand the other part: civs that do not know(have not the tech) can't trade with certain strategic ressources, right?
