Culture Flipping STOP IT DAMN!!

I disagree.

Having the game since the first day out, I have conquered hundreds of cities by now, and I have only twice had a city revolt back to it's parent country.

I guess I may be the exception to the rule, but I do focus on building culture early and often in my civ, and then rush a temple in all captured cities. This seems to be the key to success.

Captured wonders do not generate culture.

When I was a kid playing nintendo, if I thought the game cheated, I would spit at the television!

Yuck! I'm sure you make your mother very happy.

She was even happier when I taught my little brother to do the same thing.

:o

I have never spit at my computer monitor over culture flipping.

You can't sell wonders. If their effects have not expire for other reasons, they still function.

When the city flips back to the Japanese, to they get the culture benefits back?

ok
but no way about disabling this feature?
Cause when i take a city i'd like to keep it instead of rushing it.
I don't wanna to kill all peope inside by starvation
And if a town flips, to get it back i have to make a war on the opponent.
:(

But what's that, is it a bug?
i can't belive that sid meiers wanted to do that?!
It's not realistic!!!!

all patchs do the same?
thnx

If you're talking about a city you've conquered, all you have to do is make sure that your troops outnumber the population by at least 2 to 1. Provided of cource you have the 1.17f patch.

You are the exception which proves the rule. Treat your people well and they will follow you. Force them into submission and they will live only for the day to exact revenge.

"You have the spirit to fight back but the good sense to control it. Your eyes are full of hate, Forty-One. That's good. Hate keeps a man alive. It gives him strength."

"Treat your people well and they will follow you. Force them into submission and they will live only for the day to exact revenge."

And how exactly do you do that? It is a GAME. Those conquered citizens hate you at first no matter what, you cant "treat them well" other than giving them entertainers (therefore starving them). There is no "treat them well" model in the game. There is just happiness and unhappiness, which is not valued enough to help prevent most flips.

In time, those foreign nationals will improve their moods, and even become assimilated. Quite often I'll see a happy foreign worker in my cities. As for assimilation, both Democracy and Communism have a 4% chance, I'm presuming each turn, of turning a foreign national into own of your own people. And no doubt they need to be happy first.

So do i, u just hook it up to the luxuries. But from my experience happiness has had little effect on whether the citizens decide they want to blow up some tanks and retake the city with no AT weapons at all.
