Cumulative Football Quiz #6

Haha I was just waiting for you to pop up..for a moment I thought one of these guys could get it before you'd see the question.. but I guess not. Your turn.

What is the common club in the carrees of the famous italian goal keepers Buffon and Cudicini, for which both won the Serie A (although with some years in between). In which respective seasons did they both reach the final of the Champions League/Cup for that same club, and which one actually won it?

Hahaha this one is too evil..the club should be AC Milan, and for Cudicini it is 1969 and he did win (sadly enough). For Buffon, I have no idea.

Damn, that was fast. :goodjob: I half expected everyone be confused on this one for some time.
It is indeed AC Milan. Fabio Cudicini (the father of Carlo Cudicini) was goal keeper for AC Milan from 1967 to 1973, and won the 1969 Champions Cup against Ajax.
Lorenzo Buffon (cousin of Gianluigi Buffon) played for Milan between 1949 and 1959 and was a member of the team that lost the competition to Real Madrid in 1958. When Milan finally won in 1963 he was at Inter, and when Inter finally won in 1964 he was already at Fiorentina. Bad timing...

Curiously both Cudicini father and son never played for Italy: being contemporaries of both Buffons, Zoff, Albertosi, Vieri, Toldo, Peruzzi, Pagliuca is also bad timing... Btw, this Vieri one is afaik unrelated to Christian Vieri, though contemporary striker Roberto Vieri who played for Juventus is his father. Too bad I didn't remember to twist the question so as to include him too. ;)

Your go K.

I was confused! I was thinking.. Parma/Juve vs. Chelsea/Lazio.. only Juve won the CL back in '96, but then Gianluigi Buffon wasn't there yet (Peruzzi it was I think).

Now, if it hadn't been for the 1969 final I would probably never have heard of the other Cudicini hehe. Then it added up. ;) Thanks for filling in the Buffon part though, I didn't know anything about him.

What team did Bobby Moore play for when he captained England to World Cup glory in 1966?
