Q5 is almost enough to lure me back on the stage.

:D
Why almost?
Here I did my best to make a quiz that is both Ram-friendly and trooper-friendly and so you consider to turn it down.
Young man, read this carefully: You are going to submit and I will not have any excuses! :nono:

Okeh, I'm intimidated... :D

Consider this a comeback. I expect Ram to wet his whistle too. :mischief:

1st submission: Taliesin with a good 66.
He also made me realize that I am an idiot, I managed to put up the wrong ancient guy in # 15...:wallbash:
This is now duly corrected; my apologies to everybody.

 I knew the original ancient guy, but I'm not sure I recognise the new one anymore! Congratulations on what looks like a great quiz, luceafarul!
Apologies to everyone for the horrible delay of my quiz answers. I haven't posted here for a while, so perhaps some people thought I had deserted the thread, but that's not the case. I just had tons of work to do for uni. Anyway, I've finally gotten round to writing some of the answers, and although I'm not done yet, I'll now post what I've managed to finish already. Sorry once again, I really took way too long.

Eureka! Thanks for the answers Ciceronian. We've never lost hope to get them. Waiting for the second part.

Great quiz "Luceafare". Really interesting. I'll probably give it a try if I find the time after this weekend (got some minor stuff including a "halfgraduation" on my hands).

Thanks. As already noted, certain people have set a very high standard to reach for...:)

No problem. We are grateful for all the effort you do here, and understand that you have a hectic schedule.Just take your time.

Thanks, and good luck.:)
There is a new leader, sydhe with 115 points.
A good score, but not unbeatable, so just keep it coming.

No need to be shy, people, you may submit any time.
Like thetrooper, who just scored an excellent 75.:goodjob:

Thanks! I have my moments...

;)
More your hours, I would say.
And you didn't rest on yor laurels, but improved your score to 80.
To more good efforts; Aion 65 and Till 47.
Just keep it coming, lads.:)

Luc: :shake: - This quiz is once again totally slanted in one direction. It's like those discussions about quiz balance never happened. Honestly, I don't want to rant for no good reason, but this quiz is TOTALLY one sided. How? Well, it's plain to see that this most recent quiz is solely historical in its nature! And if you call that balanced, then I'd rather be imbalanced thank you very much!

;)

Actually it's a great one this. I DLed the quiz days ago but have simply not had time to fill out more than the 5 or 6 questions I could have an immediate stab at. Tonight will be no different. I hope I can make the deadline for a concerted effort to pay some justice to the concerted effort you have put into this one. :goodjob:

 That made my day! :hatsoff:

Thanks. I said I wanted to make it Ram-friendly, didn't I?
We look forward to Your contribution, sir.:)

And Hornblower joins the fun, the gallant captain takes second spot with a nice round 100.
So the scoreboard at half time looks like this:

sydhe 115
Hornblower 100
thetrooper 80
Taliesin 66
Aion 65
Till 47

It is still wide-open, and quite a few distinguished individuals have yet to submit.
I'll be off to my favourite pub in less than an hour, but I would be pleased to see my PM-box swollen as a pregnant mastodont tomorrow...

I am very happy to announce that two debutants have submitted, with great scores;
First the_Monarch, creator of the wonderful Wars of the Mediterranean mod (recommended!) scored 138, and then Naskra struck with 245 putting him in the driving seat so far.
This also means that every single question in the quiz has been answered correctly, the knowledge of people here is truly impressive.:hatsoff:
A few clarifications:
Cambyses is Cambyses II, the conqueror of Egypt. Herodotus narrates about one single incident that lead to his death.
Question 9 is a bit imprecise.I should have found another picture, since I really wanted to ask what the place where more of those can be found. So I will post an additional picture and apologize for the confusion I have created.

And the_Monarch is closing in, improving his score to 238:goodjob: .
Everything is set for an exciting finish which nobody should miss...:)

I'm impressed. They should mount an attack on the researchable quiz. They might not even have to research.
