Shucks, isn't the antrax line when wiggums was a kid security officer for Mr Burns? I think it even cured his asthma. Can't remember the rest of the line though.

Kev, Scrimshaw.....

YOU'RE BOTH WRONG!!

Nice try. First thing is naturally the bio warfare lab. But no, there were ever so many types of diseases but no anthrax.
but
Ok, i'll give a hint:

These were my two questions, one of which was answered by duke.

Who said this and what was he/she referring to: "Maybe it was the anthrax in the air...."

or

What happened when Willie tried to fire at the 'Buttzilla' balloon with a shotgun. Give all the details.

There's a reason I put those two questions together....

Now, for duke's question...

(without checking on net) Umm..... Well, the crappy one was Li'l Lightnin', Martin's was a shuttle, forgot the name.....

Oh damn, can't remember...

Martins racer was the Honor Roller. Bart's was the Li'l Lightnin'. I have no clue what Nelsons was called.

:goodjob:
Those are both right, but Bart changes the name of Martin's car when he races it....... ;)
Still need Nelson's too..........

For the anthrax quote, it can't be that many characters. It isn't going to be one of the kids, unless it's in the episode where Lisa gets married and they're looking back, and it's more likely to be said by, or about, one of the older characters. Although Grandpa seems unlikely. The link with Wullie getting shot at is strange though. Maybe it's another reference to the airforce??????
I have really no idea, but hopefully it will inspire someone else?

Umm.. I got a question.

1. What season are they on in other countries?

Now, to poke people a little more:

OK, think, duke already answered the question. Now, think, what references did they make in the jet incident that could be linked with the anthrax question?

I think the quote was either 'maybe it was the smell of anthrax in the air' or 'maybe it was the anthrax in the air'.
Not exactly sure which one...

I had to cheat on the names of the soapbox racers here. I just saw the episode.

Martins was the honor roller and when bart got it he kept the name. He did add a bumber sticker to the side that said General Dynamics though. Nelson's racer was the Roadkill 2000.

Cold tomato soup, right?

"Go back to Russia!!"

OK, Scrimshaw, ask away... :goodjob:

What's Jebediah Springfield's real name and real occupation?

For a bonus question, what did he do to tame the great springfield buffalo? This is kind of a trick question.

Cold tomato soup is right. To quote Lisa "I brought gespacho(spelling?). It's tomato soup served ice cold!"

Hans Sprungfeld, Pirate. Tried to kill George Washington. Silver tongue.

He didn't tame the buffalo. He merely shot/killed it.

OK, I'm gonna keep asking the anthrax question... Anyone who has seen Season 12 should definately try to answer this. (The Season 12 thing is why I put 2 questions instead of one the last time).

THIS IS THE LAST HINT!! I MEAN IT!!

Which character said "Maybe it was the anthrax in the air..." and what was he/she referring to?

Seems this is one of the hardest questions since Graeme's riddle a couple of pages back. :D

Alternately, since I am a Dr. Nick fan, What did he 'diagnose' Grampa with and how did he 'treat' him?

:king:

"Hello Dr Nick!"

I am still frustrated about the original question but the second one isn't too difficult. :)
Dr Nick diagnoses Grampa with bonus eruptus, meaning that his skeleton is trying to escape from his body. The treatment is urgent and has to be transdental electromicide, which involves putting the wires from an operating lamp onto his teeth and shocking him. Fortunately, it also rescues him from his malpractice suit. :D

Now, think, what references did they make in the jet incident that could be linked with the anthrax question?

Alright, here's what happens in the scene when Willy tries to shoot down Buttzilla with what appears to be an old musket:

Two fighter jets are flying overhead when the bullet zips past inbetween them. The outline of Willy appears on one of the jet pilot's consoles and identifies the attacker as an Iraqi.

Jet Pilot1: "Looks like an Iraqi. Firing sidewinder missle."

The missle shoots out a bit, does a 180, then rams right into the wingman.

Jet Pilot1: "Ok. Firing second sidewinder missle."

This time the missle does the same thing, only it comes all the way back and hits the jet plane it was shot from.

Then both pilots are parachuting down when one of them yells:
"This is what happens when you cut money out of the military and put it into education!"

The second pilot replies:
"It's a good program, just give it some time!"

Following that, their parachutes disintegrate, they fall a thousand feet into a bush, get up and start to fight eachother.

I'm assuming this "anthrax in the air" quote is from one of the newer Simpsons (I haven't see any of this season's espisodes) although I'm guessing that the main linking phrase between these two is "looks like an Iraqi".

I don't know if that's right and I'm not going to begin to agree or disagree with you on this since I don't want to disrupt the quiz, so just tell me if I'm on the right track ;)

OK, with the anthrax thing:

The only correlation I can come up with is the episode where Bart, Nelson, Milhouse and (I think) Ralph become a "boy band"

In that episode, I remember that they're shooting a video where all the boys are in jets and bombing arabs.

The refrain in the song was nioj eht yvan - which is Join the Navy spelled backwards.

I can only think that the quote was said in some capacity in the song or by the evil navy guy. I only make the correlation in that in both the Butzilla and this episode fighter jets are used.

Oh well, it was a try.

Excellent try, Kev. :goodjob:

Seems I forgot about that Iraqi reference. Now I also remember that Homer caught Mr. Burns selling uranium to Mideast terrorists.

Maj, you're the first to figure out the link. Congratulations, fellow Simpsons comrade!! :goodjob:
It does indeed have to do with the Iraqis. Great to see more of our fellow comrades posting here, for quite a while the number of posters on this thread has been.. may I say.....limited. :D

Capacimator...

Smithers: [collapsed] Help... me.
Riviera: Holy smokes, you need booze. [tosses him change]

Dr. Nick throws some change to Smithers, and walks inside the
hospital, and finds his way into a boardroom.

Riviera: Hi, everybody!
Board: [unenthused] Hi, Dr. Nick.

Chairman: Dr. Nick, this malpractice committee has received a few complaints against you. [reads from clipboard] Of the 160 gravest charges, the most troubling are performing major operations with a knife and fork from a seafood restaurant.
Riviera: But I cleaned them with my napkin.
Chairman: Misuse of the cadavers.
Riviera: I get here earlier when I drive in the carpool lane.

Is there ever a time when Dr. Nick isn't funny?

OK, I want to hear as many Troy McClure movies as possible, as in:
"Hi, I'm Troy McClure, and you may know me from such movies as....."

Wow! - I used this as the theme for the first website I ever made, years ago. I'd totally forgotten that one. It was just schoolboy smutty humour, a bit naughty, nothing more. Nice one Duke!

Sorry for not coming sooner. Haven't been able to come here so often.

The answer is Krusty, who was working for the USO making jokes about Saddam which the soldiers resented because it "fanned the flames of hatred" Cincinnati bengals cheerleaders offended soldiers who had girlfriends, wives, "insult to Musliim hosts". That's all I'll say cuz I don't wanna ruin the episode for you, it ain't bad.

NOt to worry, I'll start a new thread right away!
