Cursor clipping and disappearing/reappearing?

I just installed Beyond the Sword, and the latest nVidia drivers, but the cursor in all the menu and game screens is clipping, disappearing when I stop the mouse, then appearing/disappearing rapidly as I move the mouse. Changing resolution in the graphics options doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Anyone have this problem of the cursor clipping?

After reading this post, I started messing around with my Hardware Acceleration settings (Desktop Properties>Settings>Advanced, then click the Troubleshooting tab) and found I had hardware accel turned down two notches, to fix some quicktime bug I think. In any case I ramped acceleration all the way back up, not down, and the cursor flickering went away. Maybe someone else will find that useful

I had a similar problem on my new Vaio laptop, which is running the preliminary version of Windows Vista. On intuition, I did the following:

1) Open: CONTROL PANEL
2) Select: Mouse Pointers
3) Disable ALL ancillary pointer behavior (e.g. shadows, trails, non-default pointer shapes, precision enhancement, Snap-To, Hide-pointer-while-typing... EVERYTHING! Just to be sure!)
4) Run Civ.
5) Enjoy!

I hope this helps someone down the line.

The above was the solution to my problem with Vista on my new laptop. Thanks. :)
