Custom Avatars

I don't think I'd give up my oddball pentagonal thingy. It's as good as a custom avatar, because it's so... odd... ugly... strange... that no one else wants it. It suits me.

Actually, I once considered taking it, but then I noticed that the avatar I love (Civ2 Musketeer)
was unused so I changed my mind. Btw, that one is a 'fortfress' -unit,
from a very bad Civ2 US Civil war -scenario.

As someone who (I THINK) is only one using this particular avatar would I be wrong to complain if someone else decided to use it too? (I don't mean in a hostile fashion or anything overboard)

When somebody took my camel avatar ( ), I got a new one. Like they say, there are more fish in the proverbial toliet, or something like that. :king:

You're probably right, but I've a habit of getting attached to things with no real importance so maybe I'd just try to guilt trip the person concerned :)

Well, I'd still complain, though. :D :p

Rodgers, I tried that with Andycapp and my green Jay Leno smiley, but it has not worked yet. He still uses it in blatant disregard of my feelings... :)

I know the problem with custom avatars is that they promote an elitist site etc. Would it be an acceptable compromise to be allowed to "reserve" one of the existing avatars after a certain number of posts/time as a member? Or is that just as elitist?

Probably as there are not as many avators as members so new members could quickly have a very limited choice.

At last, I know what my avatar is! Thank you! :jump:

I just go with the non avatar. I once used the Civ3 knight, but have since given it up. Who knows, someday I may pick up an avatar. Or I may not. I do like other people's distinctive avatars. Switch and Rodgers come to mind.
