Cutting down swamp

Okay, I might be an idiot here, but how the hell do you cut down a swamp, I'm playing the elves, and have the techs that I should have, but I do not get the chopping option.

You need sanitation to remove jungle. Are you sure you have it?

I'm pretty sure there's a bug filed about elf workers not being able to cut down jungles. Check the bug thread.

Yes...it seems to be a bug. It is only the elves that cannot cut jungle for some reason.

In the meantime, I recommend using Blaze to remove forests (possibly long before sanitation). Oh, and close all windows and bring pets indoors.
