If we hold Nicae down to 1 citizen it won't take much place away and we have a navy (which we certainly need) which can travel around. It's my opinion!
I agree with heading around the black sea and colonising the islands in the medittereanean: the Ai won't attack them, so we don't need much garrison and the land cities we can conquer afterwards easily
But the really first turn should be heading northwards (with Athen) and catching the iron there.
One question: What you mean by victory locations?
To get the Victory Points of Jerusalem we need a relic, so we have to attack Rome (there is the Shroud(=the nearest relict), not?) once. But It's easier to capture Jerusalem before the Abbasids get too strong. So, Jerusalem beofre Rome.
The other problem are the bulgarians with their resource for the dromons (whats the name in english?). Shall we attack them first to get it? The dromon are certainly a help with their bombardments!
So?
1)expanding fast, with priority on settling around the black sea
2)attacking bulgaria, taking the ressource (then making peace?)
3)attacking Jerusalem and holding it?
4)attacking Rome (Burgundians) or a other christian tribe
Is this very roughly blueprint ok?

EDIT: I could take the first turns, if nobody else wants to (what difficulty is it?). (and what is it in German, I think the translation is messed up, so could you pleasse name the difficulties in their order (easiest first!) thx a very lot!

In german it is: häuptling, Kriegsherr, Prinz, König, Kaiser, Demigod (why didn't they translate?), Diety ( I don't know), Sid. My problem was that there is no Prinz (=prince) in the english version.
