Cool thanks guys. I may have to revise Hule and I forgot about the Isle of Dread. I will have to make sure to represent it somehow. Too bad there aren't any Rakasta units, then I would make them a civ instead of Malpheggi.

Trying to put up an image of the map I will use for the world map versions. Took this photo out of the Rules Cyclopedia. If it's not clear, I'll try again later.

:hmm: I geuss I could make it bigger. I'll try that tomorrow.

I've played D and D for years since the beginning (being as old as I am) and I've played some of the module's you've talked about. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Mystara.

What about making a map of just the "known" world, or center? With the World map many of the civilizations mentioned will just be dots on the map.

My plan is to alter the shape of the Known world to take up more space in Brun. It will still be crowded there , but no more than Europe in world map mods. I might make Brun a little larger all together in the 180x180 map. They will fit fine in a 360x360. I may do another map of just the known world area for just play without the War of Wrath scenario I mentioned. The scenario will use the Known world only, since it is where Blackmoor once stood and the artifact that sets the Immortals to war against eachother is in the Broken Lands. Glantri will find it, which I will make a resource out of it. Alphatia will declare war on Glantri, Thyatis on Alphatia with Heldann backing them up and so on. I may just set that up in the scenario description and then start the game with locked alliances. I will have Karamiekos and Traladar start off at war with a rebel uprising.

When I do make a known world map I will have uploaded the graphix for different leaderheads and possible units with the the rest of the mod. So I can make Karamiekos, Soderfjord, The Savage Coast, and Norwald. The only other nations I had around Hule was the Orcs of the Immortal arm and Yazzak Steppes. They were allied to Hule anyway so there'd be no point in making them seperate.

All in all, I will make sure that the Known World area is not so small that you can't spread and develop the civs located there. One thing I learned about civs in close proximity. There is more trade and many of them will trade techs. Sometimes they remain small, but they stay advanced. I am also giving civ-specific governments in the 3rd era. That will allow for improved military for those in the known world so they aren't completely overwhelmed by civs like Alphatia and Hule. Especially if they band together.

Today I'm working on my unit lists. So far I have set up the lines for land, artillery, cavalry, and navy. There are around 350-400 units so far. Don't worry those using dial-up I am using the same graphix for several units, they will just have a different name, ratings and sometimes different bonuses. For example, several of my civs have elven units, but some of them will have better elven units than others. Wendar will have a better elven cavalry than other elven civs. The archers of Alfhiem will be the best in the game.

If anyone is keeping up with this thread, I was wondering if anyone would be able to creeate a special unit for me.

I need a triceratops rider. I black man on the back of a triceratops would be perfect for a UU for Ulimwengu. I'll start a request thread once I get a picture uploaded. I have one somewhere.

Hi, tjedge1. I can't promise I'll master the art of unit-making, but if I can I'll make units for you. But I also have the Video Game mod and a possible Zelda mod to make units for, all if the 20% chance of me actually being successful in unit making happens. Even if I can't make units can I help in any other way?

I appreciate the help. For now I'm good, except for unit making. I am going to make a list of units I will need and then gather as many photos as I can for them and start a new thread for that. I will include the requests and pictures I made before in my old request thread. FOr now I'm still trying to figure out what all the units I will need. That Pegasus you mentioned before would be perfect for my elven civs. ;). Those Zelda units might come in handy depending how they look.

Here is my list in order of my favorites:

1. The Pegasus, a riderless one and one with an elaborately armored rider and elaborately decorated horse.
2. ReDead, an undead unit from OoT.
3. Chimera
4. Minotaur
5. Goron Roller
6. Triceratops Rider
7. Zora Guard
8. Hyrulean Guard
9. One of those "Gnoll" units you posted a picture of before.
10. Manticore
11. Whatever Zelda and D&D units I can think of, but first the ones that can be used in your mods.
12. The leftover Zelda units that can't be used in your mod.
13. The leftover D&D units that can't be used in the Video Game or Zelda mods.

But I still don't want to get my or your hopes up.

No prob.
BTW: embryodead made a Beastman unit that is pretty much a Minotaur, but if you still want to make one, I could use one with a little more armor. Minotaurs are pretty "civilized" in some D&D settings.

I think I'll still make a Minotaur, I'll make a more "civilized" version with armor and maybe shorts instead of the "wild" version wearing worn out rags and a dull axe. Unit making will be on the top of my list once the BAM Exodus v0.1 is out.

Cool. I will have a better picture of the Gnoll I want in my new request thread. Maybe I'll set that up tomorrow. I've been working on units and resources in my editor. I downloaded a 600 resource file and so I will be adding more than 32 resources. As soon as I finish that I will post a list of what they will be. And yes now I will have red steel :mwaha:.

:D I could use both in the long run. I will just use a triceratops by itself if I can't get anyone to make one. I hope I don't have to though. Ulimwengu is well known by outsiders for the Thunder Brigade that makes up their military. Of course part of that is Elephants, so I won't be completely off if I just use a triceratops.

I added Triceratops rider to my list, it's a little bit lower down because it seems complicated and I don't what my first project to drive me insane. While on the other hand the Pegasus should be a little easier because it's just a horse with wings, then a rider, then decorative patterns on the winged horse and you have an Elven Pegasus.

Sounds good. There's no super rush. Since C3C just came out, I'm pretty sure everyone will play the normal game for a while. Kinboat informed me he might do my Gnoll units, but it would be a while before he started. I don't plan to have this mod done till after Christmas at the earliest. Between my job, my wife and my obsession with Madden2004, I only get a couple hours a day to work on it. Sometimes more or less on the weekend. Luckily I did a lot of note taking before conquests came out so I have a pretty good idea on what I plan to do. Now to go take some pictures, like I promised.

My updated requests list

There is the link to my new requests thread. I have a b/w pic of the specific Gnoll I want and the triceratops rider. I have a color pic of an ideal airship. Everyone is adding ballons to theirs, but it isn't necessary.

With the units I got from Grandraem, I now have an earth elemental, earth elemental lord, three various airships, another ghost unit, and a gnomish sub. The sub will be cool. I will make it a scout unit that can't fight but can carry one foot unit. I have krakens or giant squids, so they aren't completly safe. I will make them invisible, but the squid and sea giants will see them anyway. They will just be slightly faster than the squid.

UPDATE: I didn't have time this week to work on the mod, but I will get a complete list of resources and then will post it, then I will get back on the untis and try to finish them more, since I now have airships.

Only thing I don't have any substitute for is Gnolls or Manscorpions. Or lizards. It seams there aren't any lizard men ready anywhere, so I won't bother with my Malpheggi civ until I can fill it with something. Graakhalia may wait till I get Gnolls. I won't worry about that till I'm ready to release the beta first. That's a ways away.

OK: Now for an update:

I have finished making my list of resources and assigning them graphix, etc. As soon as I finish the techs I will link them to those.

Strategic
Timber, Oil, Elephants, Horses, Camels, Iron, Artifact, Wolves, Coal, Hillfolk, Dragons, Dinosaurs, Saltpeter, Woodfolk, Bronze, Quality Wood, Gryphons, Cinnabar (Red Steel), Bamboo and Ruins.

Bonus & Luxury
Salt, Fish, Wheat, Furs, Coffee, Grapes, Silver, Dyes, Cotton, Tobacco, Spices, Silks, Gold, Gems, Cattle, Whales, Pearls, Crabs, Incense, Elk, Sugar, Bananas, oasis, Cloth, Lobster, Apples, Rhinos, Lions, Bears, Penguins, Fowl, Polar Bears, Pigs, Sheep, Bison, Orca, Swordfish, Squids, Antelope, Seals, Walrus, Corn, Rice, Cocoa, Jade and Platinum.

I might take out Bamboo and replace it with something more useful or just make it a bonus resource.

Now to get after the units. This will be the longest part. Tons of flavor.:crazyeye:

Edit: If anyone has any better ideas for resources just say so. I'm an open minded guy.
