No point in creating another thread for this so ... :bump:

I have started playing mods for Diablo2 LoD.
Did any of you ever played mods ? What else would you recommend ?
I have started playing the Median 2007 mod and it seem awsome. (even tho it has 8MB)

(also, note that one of our fellow civfanatics is a Diablo2 modder :D --> Darque)

I just started playing this again because I love collecting stuff. I've never played a D2 mod, but have looked at the Planet Diablo database for them. I think I definitely want one that expands your stash and pack and offers up more Cube recipes. :D

So Median 2007 has the expanded storage?
Yup, bigger inventory, bigger stash, cube from the start of the game. :D

(but i think the charms are all gone - they were probably removed because there would have been to much space for them. You could have +100 STR without occupying 1/3 of your inventory)

If you want to install it, note that characters from the original game won't work in the mod. (and vice-versa) But it's always good to start from scratch again. :)

Also, cube recipies now depend on how many crafting points you got ... more about it on the site.

Cool. So is it easy to install and run? Like I said...I've never run a D2 mod.

I thought it should be hard to install it as well. But it incredibly simple.
You download the file which is named something with "patch" and you paste it in your diablo2 folder and replace the old one. Voila you've now installed a mod.

Note: you NEED to backup your old "patch" in case you want to go back to the original game.

Thanks HC. :D

I'm sure I'll want to keep my old D2 game/characters as well. Maybe I'll make a copy of my D2 folder and then use one for this mod.

I keep my old characters separatley somewhere far away. :mischief:
Dunno if it'll work, having 2 diablo games at the same time, even tho it's copied.(you can't instal them twice, and the copied one might not work because of some registry thingy)

Btw, have you heard about the latest rumours for a possible sequel? Exciting stuff -> http://www.blizzplanet.com/content/601/

Do you think the ramifications of this book impact in the storyline of Diablo 3 the game?

Knaak: This is a pure collaboration between myself and Chris/Blizzard. All that is written is passed by him and the others there. This will be canon and has adjusted earlier info. The ramifications here will be used for any future project ... and I ain't writing for a dead game. :)

I can't wait till the Diablo books get to Romania. :bounce: It took several years for the Warcraft ones to get here. :(
