I am still playing, but very slowly. Turns take 2 hours each, and I don't have much free time right now.

210AD: Replaceable Parts
280AD: 7th luxury connected
320AD: 314 cities and 39.6% of the world.

I can research industrial techs in 2 turns (-800gpt), which means I get to spend half my turns at 100% tax (+700gpt). All my money has been used for transport ships and harbors for trade routes.

Actually, I guess the HOF is not timeless......we have to get our games finished by the time Civ 4 comes out!

I noticed that gpt trick on chief.. you won't do ALL turns in a minus gpt if you can earn some money on some turns without hurting research and buy things till you're broke again

Not entirely true, unless you just can't wait to play 4. We're not planning on shutting IIIHOF down the day 4 comes out.

Why not trying to get a SGL with another tech? Like no IA with bronze working, or potery, and research it with your industrial civ. SGL could happen, the pyramid are available, and potery is less expensive to research (SGL quickest, pyramid quickest)

Yes technically the fastest way to get Pyramids is something like a CB SGl with an ind civ.
But this forces you to have an ind civ.
Also, there are more chances an AI randomly picks up CB than masonry in a hut or something like that.

How do you research techs in 2 turns, I thought there was a 4 turn limit on research?

He doesnt, he said he can!
Which means he can spend 2 turns out of 4 at zero research...
My guess is 2 turns out of 4 hes in negative gpt doing max research (this is chieftain), the other 2 turns hes maxing revenue, and using that money.
Thats better than being at 50% research and getting no money at all!
