Hello there, and thank you all for your work and dedication.

I watched the video How To in the sticky, and it's helpful. But after some searches, a thing is still a mystery for me :

I have Photoshop (7.0) and when I try to Save As a .dds file, the extension .dds doesn't appear.
I tried to download a thing from nvidia, but it doesn't seem to change anything.
So for now, I keep going by tweaking things with DXTBmp, but it would be easier directly with 'toshop.

I looked a little bit on the forum, and did not find what I was looking for.
What did I miss ?

Thanks again.

Welcome Ikoma.

I don't use PS, but there should be a plugin that allows you to save as a dds. There is with GIMP, but I had to go find it. If you have a PS site you use it should be easy to find or maybe someone can chime in with a link.

You can get the PS plugin at nvidia. I dont remember how it was called - Texture tools or something.

I found the plug-in ; I downloaded the good one, but the file was corrupt. I found another (good) one here :

Thanks !

I took a look at this because I myself use Photoshop 7.0 when making flags and buttons. Here is what you are looking for :

The plugin: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html
There are 2 download links on the bottom of the page. When I installed the plugin, if I remember correct, one of the plugins is corrupt. Download the other. It works. I reinstalled the plugin this week, and have made many buttons with it.

When you save the picture, push save as ... scroll down to D3D/DDS. Hit save and the plugin box will pop up.

There are some configurations you will need for the box, but once you set the config, you are good to go.

Here is a thread for the plugin config settings: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=161672

This will help you with what you are doing.
