Decoupling research from production

Also there's a mod for production from population. Which is good, since population should give production arguably more than anything else.

There is, in the game files, a definition of the game speeds. Namely, there is a parameter called CostMultiplier, which affects EVERYTHING.

However, one could create a set of modifiers that apply to all players in the game, giving desired bonuses to unit, building, and/or district build speed. Iirc there are differences in modifier types such that at least one of them is technically a direct cost reduction, so it stacks multiplicatively.

(It’s the mechanism Japan’s Leader ability uses. It’s not +100% build speed, it’s actually -50% cost.)

Using this, the fact that we cannot set tech/civic cost independently from unit/building cost can be circumvented and you can get any mix you want.

Apparently there is a method, I googled and found it explained here:
https://gamerant.com/civilization-6-mods-epic-games-store-civ-egs-install-how/

Though I should say I never used it myself.

Tyvm! I got them and will be testing them now. Should've really thought of googling it myself...

FYI please do not use steamworkshop.download as it caches download and host older versions of the mods.

For example when testing it to download YnAMP today, I've downloaded version 8.0.0 which is an old version that is not compatible with the current version of the game.

Use the same method but with https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/ AFAIK it gets the latest version (8.1.2 for the YnAMP example as of today)

Hi,
I just got this game, and am bothered by production being way too slow in comparison to tech and civ research. History just zips by and I'm hardly able to build anything or conduct proper campaigns during earlier eras. I thought that slowing the game speed to epic/marathon would improve matters, but instead, if anything, the production speed seems to be even more out of whack.
Is there a way (config? hack? mod?) to set the research speed independently from production? Pretty please with sugar on top? I don't understand why the setting isn't standard in the game. As it is, epic&marathon are a semi-useless half-arsed implementation.

I am also bothered by this. Especially by not getting to play with my units in each era, because they become obsolete too quickly. So I found some mods for slower science/civics and quicker production. One would be "historic speed", you get to build everything everywhere, and to have some epic wars with dozens of units on each side in each era. Another I'm trying right now is "Extended Eras", the same author, seems better balanced.
Without mods: Use the gold/chop/faith to buy the things you need.
