So i was in this wonderfull game with 6 other civs on a normal map and doing very good as i was in first place and equal on tech with the nearest competitors.
When we arrived in the modern era the AI beat me to fission and was well underway in building their United Nations. Knowing i could lose very easiliy i didn't want it to come to an election. So i prepared my forces to take out the first target (the chinese) who were one of the two nations building the damn thing.
I made an RPP with the chinese and moved my forces against his cities thinking his infantry wouldn't be to big of a deal against my tanks (no sense in playing mr. nice guy at this stage, i normally don't backstab
).
Next turn comes around and i take all his cities in one turn with some severe losses (Dang those infantry in cities)
As i cleaned up the mess i was already shipping my forces towards bablyon for the next target. Problem here: They had MECH infantry. As i didn't have the goody goody modern tanks i was sure to lose so i just focussed on the city where the UN was being built. As the turnclock left me 1 turn i attacked with everything i had. I razed the city and thought i would be saved as i was well underway constructing my own UN.
Now the really weird thing. Babylon switched production to another city and within two turns he completed the UN anyway. Needless to say, i was served a humiliating defeat, but how did he manage it? I was sure there we're no other wonders that were under construction.
I'm going back now to see what he was building there in the first place.
Damn, i lost...
P.S. Is this the right forum for this?, seems to me there is some question that could relate to strategy and i don't wanna post this in The Bad Place (general forum)
