Deities on Earth

Plan sounds good to me. For ideology, Freedom really is going to help us most. We're going for CV and nothing beats Media Culture so I say Freedom.

And to clarify: This would be my thinking so just want to make sure I got it:
  • We taking the third Freedom tenet, Universal Suffrage first, with our next policy right? Or Foreign Legions are an option too, but that would be a long time to get back around to Univ. Suff and we have a lot of specialists to work.
  • We need to finish Aesthetics because we're going CV, so we are not putting any more into Rationalism?
  • And the first policy in Aesthetics should be the 50% boost to the buildings?
In my fastest CV games, I'm often forced to divert away from Rationalism to get the powerful Ideologies and Aesthetics finished. A lot of that depends on whether I have much early tourism. If I don't, finishing Aesthetics isn't as much of a rush as its power really kicks in once you're generating real tourism. Because this game is going to have pretty late theming due to the delayed Museums, there'll be some interesting decisions to be made.

I'd be taking that next policy in Aesthetics next just to get the culture buildings going. After that, a reasonable case could be made for each of the three culture paths.

T161:
  • Renewed DoFs with Russia and India.
  • Cotton to Russia for 174g + 2gpt, Cotton to China for 7 gpt, Dyes to Attila for 6 gpt. Noone else wants Dyes, noone wants Spices.
  • Maximized GPT for maximum bribing potential. Then I bribe-and-DoWed several AIs. Made Brazil and the Inca backstab their friends.
  • Also DoWed Indonesia, America and the Maya. Couldn't bribe them.
  • Gifted Salt to Sweden
  • Bought all available Coal for 8 gpt
  • Reassigned tiles in the capital to finish Ironworks in 1 turn. Started Shrine in Lalibela and Gondar. Locked just enough specialist slots to 3-turn Industrialization.
  • Moved some units closer to Arabian borders.
  • DoWing Harun and Askia freed up two trade route slots. Bought a Cargo Ship in Adwa and a caravan in Gondar
Interim: Tons of denouncements flying around, none hitting us. Some DoFs as well. Sweden is friendly, hopefully a DoF next turn?

T162:
  • Couldn't renew a DoF with Siam.
  • Bulbed Archaeology, started Louvre. It'd take 12 turns at current production. Should go down 1 turn when the city gets a factory.
  • Level 1 spy to Addis Ababa
  • Sent a food cargo ship to Gondar
  • Moved a caravan to Axum, will send food to the capital next turn
  • Started Harbor in Adwa
  • Spices to India for 207g + 1gpt
Interim: renew a bunch of OB deals.

T163:
  • Sydney cleared the barb camp they targeted. That's annoying, our Pikeman was almost there and we could really use another CS ally.
Interim: DoF with Sweden. A trade route to Rabat got pillaged by a stray American caravel.

T164:
  • Bribed Shaka to DoW Askia for 5gpt
  • Sent food to Addis Ababa
  • Finished Industrialization, started Scientific Theory
  • Started Temples in Gondar and Lalibela
  • Could take a loan for factories right now, but it's better to have high gpt until we get our peace deals
  • Spread Rastafarianism to Antananarivo
Interim: Valletta gifts us a Gatling Gun. Pillaged an American Cargo Ship

T165:
  • Harar started Archaeologist
  • Moving units into Arabian lands, pillaging tiles

T166:
  • Moved L3 Spy to Samarkand
  • Not much happening otherwise

T167:

Peace deals:
  • 221 g + 16 gpt from Indonesia
  • 235 g + 63 gpt from Songhai
  • 440 g + 40 gpt from Arabia
  • 6 gpt from America
  • 506 g + 39 gpt from Brazil
  • 61 gpt from the Inca
  • 72 gpt from Mongolia
  • 50 gpt from the Maya
Bought 3 factories: in AA, Axum and Lalibela.

T168:
  • Adopted Freedom. Half-food specialists and 25% bonus to GP.
  • Bought a Cargo Ship in Adwa. Harbor finishes next turn, will send food to Axum.
  • England doesn't like us but hasn't denounced yet. I gift her 5 gpt, maybe this will prevent a denouncement.
  • Same with Shoshone
Interim: Gandhi finishes a very late Taj Mahal.

T169:

Started Archaeologist in Adwa; not much else to report.

T170:
  • RA with Shaka complete. Electricity 6 turns away now, congress timer is at 11 turns
  • Successful coup in Samarkand. I gift them 500 gold on top of that. Samarkand has Wine, so I sell ours to Rome for 240 g.
  • Started Archaeologists in Gondar and Lalibela.
  • Moved L3 Spy to Sydney. I think we're about to return them a worker, so that's another 85% coup potentially.
  • Vancouver wants us to find a natural wonder, they could be the next coup target as we should to find Old Faithful soon. Pledged to protect Vancouver, revoked protection from our allies. Maybe they'll give a protection quest.
  • Peace with Japan, they gave us 446g and 20 gpt. He looks like a potential denouncer so I gift him 5 gpt back.
  • Our Australian scout finds a ruin and upgrades to a Scarcher.
  • Bought a factory in Harar
  • Renewed RA with Shaka
Interim: lots of DoFs between AIs. Pachacuti offers us a DoF, I decline because he's at war with a million civs and is labeled a backstabber.

New Great Writer spawns. I assume we're saving this one for a Political Treatise.

**************
Discussion:

I tried to keep diplo somewhat sane. A lot of civs hate each other now, but we've kept all DoFs except Siam and gained a DoF with Sweden. Noone's denounced us yet. It's a shame I couldn't liberate the Zulu city with a Caravel to erase some warmonger penalties, Shaka kept blocking the tile with his stupid triremes

We're still the only civ with Archaeology. Default cost of the tech was 2330, it went down to 2307 when I bulbed it and it still has that value. I haven't sent any units to occupy dig site spots yet, it's been difficult to get through Shaka's carpets of doom.

Noone has ideologies, but the Shoshone have Coal again. We could try buying that. If Pocatello gets an ideology now, he's much more likely to denounce us. I think the diplo situation will improve a lot if we manage to propose World's Fair on the next congress session and before anyone gets an Ideology. We can also sell our own Coal to AIs that are far behind in tech and can't get Factories anyway.

We'll need to redenounce Arabia in a few turns. Denouncing the same leaders as other civs is a big diplo buff.

We have some slots for artifacts, so I think we can delay Museums a little bit and focus on Archaeologists for now. I suggest we build Oxford for Radio in the capital after Louvre (Eiffel/Broadway after Oxford?) and all other cities build Archaeologists. There are 2 more factories and 6 public schools to buy, and Lalibela probably needs a Garden. We'll need a Musician's guild at some point as well.

If we do delay Museums, I think we can go Universal Suffrage - Cultural Centers. We'll enter a Golden Age very soon.

Tech-wise, beeline Replaceable Parts and faith-GE Statue of Liberty?

Wow @Vadalz! That is some amazing progress! I will try not to set us back. But GE for Broadway/ET rather than SoL I should think? Can’t we safely hard build SoL?

  • 221 g + 16 gpt from Indonesia
  • 235 g + 63 gpt from Songhai
  • 440 g + 40 gpt from Arabia
  • 6 gpt from America
  • 506 g + 39 gpt from Brazil
  • 61 gpt from the Inca
  • 72 gpt from Mongolia
  • 50 gpt from the Maya
Lol, that is just broken. Its almost too easy. I've always wondered why sometimes when I make a peace deal after a war, I'll ask for what I think is a ridiculous amount of money and the AI agrees right away. Then I'm always like, darn, I should have asked for more.

I am okay with peace-deal-abuse. The only “cheat” (i.e., broken game mechanic) I know of is the one-way OB. Even CS worker stealing isn’t isn’t a cheat, it is just cheesy. And I don’t even think it the best way to play — because of the one-in-ten games opportunity for a later game CS DoW that allows you to recall a CS (or even an AI civ).

T171
  • I am pleasantly surprised to find that we are not at war with anyone. I go back and re-read @vadalaz post, since I thought we were still fighting.
  • Several DOFs / denouncements, and a few RAs.
  • I do not trade OB with anyone, since I can live with mutually closed borders.
  • We have a scarcher now.
  • Liberate worker from Sydney. We could ally for 500 gold, but I would rather save for a Factory.
  • Purchase Pagoda in Harar.
  • Buy Pocatello’s Coal at above market rate.
T172
  • Shaka denounces us, but of course you know that if he was serious, that would have been a DOW!
  • More denouncements/DOFs/RAs.
  • I re-read the recent posts to see if there was a decision on the next policy pick, but do not find consensus. I go with the FLeas. Because Shaka and we still have no army. Also Cultural Centers is not yet unlocked, so I had three good choices, but not one that was clearly the best.
  • Pocatello has 3 more Coal, but is asking too much.
  • Give Singapore a PoP since they have announce Gem quest, which should be easy.
T173
  • Washington, Harun, Elizabeth, Oda, Ahmad, Pocatello, and Ramkhamhaeng denounce us. So much for that 5gpt to Oda, but it was wort a try!
  • Catherine asks us to denounce Askia and I decline, since I do not know if we are trying to salvage that relationship. As the script goes, she then denounces us. I am tempted to bribe Genghis and Attila to DOW her. Is there any reason to keep her alive?
  • AA finishes Louvre and Axum finishes University; AA starts on Oxford. @vadalaz really did a nice job with the timings! I vote we save the GA for Modern and then theme Sistine and then later Uffizi. In my experience, Uffizi is the hard one.
  • I max production in AA to close the Oxford/Electricity gap by one turn.
  • Axum starts on Harbor.
T174
  • Montezuma, Pedro, Wu, Gajah, Pacal, Caesar, and Askia denounce us. Gajah will hurt, since we need his unique lux.
  • Gajah will take 3:1 for Nutmeg, so I grab it. Gems from other AI is crazy, but we can afford Wu’s asking price. We could ally Sydney for the Pearls, but I spend the money on a Factory in Adwa instead.
T175
  • Oda asks forgiveness for abusing Vancouver, but I decline.
  • Caesar DOWs Pachacuti, I have no idea what that is about!
  • Gift 1K to Singapore for ally status, since their gold quest is about to expire, and then gift unpromoted CB to ten more points.
  • I send Cargo Ship to Jakarta since, other than Gustavus, Gajah is the only AI we of any particular advantage.
  • Harar finishes our first Archeologist, and starts on a Stable.
T176
  • A couple AIs are jealous of our relations with CS. Does anyone try to keep track of that sort of thing?
  • GA starts. We will want to burn our GW after ten turns.
  • I think this was the turn I bought our last Factory. (Sorry, I was a bit sloppy with my notes.)
T177
  • Aztecs adopt Autocracy. I forget to check, but I think he is the only other civ to have an Ideology.
  • Pachacuti denounces us.
  • Lots more denouncements, 1 RA, 0 DOF.
  • All the AIs we put at war make peace.
  • Ghandi asks us to denounce Monglia, I agree.
  • AA finishes Oxford for Radio, starts on Mu Guild.
  • Gunpower finishes and I upgrade two unpromoted Muskets; I forgot to pick the next tech, so it spills over to Biology.
  • I sell iron to Gustavus and Gandhi. I didn’t check everywhere, but I am pretty sure they are the only ones who will give us 2 gpt.
  • put the spy in Lalibela
  • denounce Harun
T178
  • somebody builds Red Fort
  • more denouncements, no more DOFs or HAs (I don’t think)
  • our peace treaties expire
  • Gustavus takes the time to say he likes that we denounced Mongolia.
  • Send fourth Archeologist to dig in Shaka’s land; the other three working on our landmarks.
  • We have the votes for last WC host; i should have looked for that last turn.
  • Theme Oxford, something else I should have done last turn.
T179
  • We are now WC host.
  • I was expecting offer to pick WF as next WC project, but nothing? That does not seem right!
  • Indonesia and Siam are now friends, so I guess we should try to make nice with Rammy?
T180
  • Caesar DOWs Askia.
  • Biology researched, but no Oil fields. Start on Chemistry as RA w/ Gandhi matures.
  • AA starts on Broadway, 12 turns with current manual citizen assignments. I switch to Production Focus and reset, and the counter drops to 10 turns (and I am happy enough with what tiles are being worked).
  • Every city now has a Factory, so I buy our first Public School in AA. Our gpt is good, and we should be able to do that every other turn without borrowing. AA could build PS in 5 turns, but there are too many other competing priorities!
  • Pike liberates Indonesian Settler in Australia.
  • Local elections in Sydney next turn, but I am too risk-adverse to try a coup!

Notes for @raider980
  • Please decide how many turns we play for this round. I am sure the rest of us are content to follow the pattern you set!
  • Last turn I saw a barb Settler and Warrior just N of Pike in Australia. Don’t bother letting that Pikeman heal!
  • Coal is available in 4th ring N of AA. There is an unassigned worker nearby, since that is where I was heading him.
  • There is an Archeologist S, waiting for Zulu worker to finish a farm. I was going to turn that into a landmark, since I presume we will be taking the nearby city sooner than later. Lots of dig sites are available!
  • We have a TR slot available now.
  • GW waiting to bulb whenever you like the timing.
  • I do not have clarity on what our next SP should be. I vote for next SP to be in Aesthetics, then the three after that in Freedom.
  • GS too, but I assume we are waiting on Plastics for him?
  • GPT (from the peace deals) should be strong for several more turns. After Schools, how should we spend the money? I think Rifle upgrades to GWI are kind of expensive, but I would like for us to get a couple more, regardless of the FLeas.

The world has been torn asunder! When I saw only green modifiers on the T171 save I thought we had gotten away with the DoW and Peace deal trick. But dang that turned around quickly, I guess there are consequences to it after all.
  • I was going to list the people who have denounced us but its easier to list those that haven't: Attila, Gandhi, Genghis, Gustav; I guess we're in with the G's.
  • Zulu, Rome and Russia backstabbed us.

Thoughts:
  • Arabia is getting torn up.
    • Is it worth it to try and snipe Baghdad if we get the chance? Its about to fall to Shaka. And I might be able to get those Foreign Legion in there.
    • If I can liberate Babanango from Arabia (if they get it), should I? I'd say yes.
    • Can you get both "at war with the same enemy" modifier and "denounced the same leaders" modifier? In a single player game I denounced a Civ then waited a turn and DoW them. But I only got the green "denounced" modifier.
  • What is that Great Artist doing?
    • Are we waiting to create a great work for some reason? We'll get another one in 5 turns.
    • Is the GA "era" for theming determined by date they were born or date they "created a great work"?
  • Spies: Keep in defense or move somewhere? Like I was thinking move the Laliabela one to Lhasa - Arabia might be gone soon. Has anything been stolen from Laliabela?
Spoiler Baghdad :

I have never done this trick, but I think the warmonger rep will dissipate pretty quickly. (That was so last era.) But soon all the AIs will be following Order and all but us and one other following Freedom. So the hate and denouncements will continue until the end of the game.
Is it worth it to try and snipe Baghdad if we get the chance? Its about to fall to Shaka. And I might be able to get those Foreign Legion in there.
I vote “yes” and wish I thought of it! I say burn it, so Harar can have one more hill. Also, a GG to get us one more Sugar, Incense, and some Aluminum would be nice! Plus, I still resent Askia stealing Iron from Harar. I am forward to burning Jenne down.
What is that Great Artist doing? Are we waiting to create a great work for some reason? We'll get another one in 5 turns.
Oops, sorry. I meant to make a GW with him once we hit Modern. Thanks for catching that!
Is the GA "era" for theming determined by date they were born or date they "created a great work"?
The era they are converted to great work.
Has anything been stolen from Laliabela?
Not that I know off. The AIs do like to steal from the player's second best science city though.

Since global diplomacy has gone haywire, I'd personally just double down on the bribe-and-DoWs here and get some more gpt from Rome, Siam, Russia, China, England and Morocco. Turn them into backstabbers and watch the world burn.

I also don't like how peaceful North America is. I'd bribe Monty to attack Washington and Pocatello.

Is it worth it to try and snipe Baghdad if we get the chance? Its about to fall to Shaka. And I might be able to get those Foreign Legion in there.
We'd lose 40 gpt from the peace deal with Arabia and get more warmonger penalties. We could try to liberate Damascus but we might not have enough firepower, hard to say what Augustus has over there. Could buy a Trebuchet and upgrade into a Cannon next turn I guess.
Can you get both "at war with the same enemy" modifier and "denounced the same leaders" modifier? In a single player game I denounced a Civ then waited a turn and DoW them. But I only got the green "denounced" modifier.
You only get the common foe modifier if you actually kill that foe's units or take their cities.
Also, a GG to get us one more Sugar, Incense, and some Aluminum would be nice!
I think we should keep the general in case we have to counter-citadel Shaka.

I would make this a priority.

We could try to liberate Damascus but we might not have enough firepow
Why not wait about 30 turns for liberations? Much better chance of getting Great People in the cities then, plus the tech advantage at that point should make for quick victories. Gold and resources are better spend on other things right now.

I think we should keep the general in case we have to counter-citadel Shaka.
Agreed. At this stage of the game, the strategic value of a GG is much more important than a couple of redundant resources.

The only “cheat” (i.e., broken game mechanic) I know of is the one-way OB
Are you saying the game lets you get OB without giving up anything in return? If so, I had no idea. I'm probably not ok with that.

Even CS worker stealing isn’t isn’t a cheat, it is just cheesy.
I don't think it's cheesy at all, mostly because there's a risk/reward calculation and there's also a bit of skill to be able to do it to the right CS multiple times.

Cheesy exploits involve no sacrifice.

I never picked up on that distinction, thanks!
I think we should keep the general in case we have to counter-citadel Shaka.
Good point! (Not that we have a GG at the moment.)
Are you saying the game lets you get OB without giving up anything in return? If so, I had no idea. I'm probably not ok with that.
Not nothing, 1-2 gpt, but 100x below what it is worth. OTOH, if the AIs would buy one-way OB for 100 gpt that would be an exploit too! The much-much too cheap one-way-OB is only one of two “broken” game mechanics that I can think of. (The other is that cities founded on plains cannot build Stoneworks. WTH?)
I don't think it's cheesy at all, mostly because there's a risk/reward calculation and there's also a bit of skill to be able to do it to the right CS multiple times.
Zero risk (since CS will accept peace on the same turn you take a worker) and high reward (free early worker). (So is the risk/reward calculation zero or infinite?) Yes, there is a (tiny) bit of skill to set up for multiple CS worker steals. Agreed, not zero sacrifice (since you only get one consequence-free CS DoW, there is the opportunity cost at least).
Cheesy exploits involve no sacrifice.
What counts as a cheesy exploit in Civ5 then? Pillage/repair? What is a fair-but-derogatory adjective you would accept for characterizing CS worker stealing? I am pretty sure that we agree that it is an exploit. I guess maybe “exploit” is a reasonable enough term on its own? I am not sure it makes sense to try and rank exploits. Except maybe just decide the ones which a player is “not ok with that” as you say?

Interesting that we all seem to have different opinions of what is a "broken" mechanic. For me, I don't see how paying 2gpt for an AI OB is broken but its not broken to DoW an AI then making peace a few turns later and they pay you 50, 60, 70 gpt - even when you haven't fired a shot at them and are no threat whatsoever to them. I guess the AI always have so much gold that they often don't even do anything with so they don't value gold as much as the player.

Maybe I'm undervaluing open borders? Maybe its more valuable because we're going for CV and the tourism boost is more helpful? I guess I don't try for CV's and so only use the buy OB to explore or for Ideological Pressure happiness. And since I hate the happiness mechanic in Civ 5, I'm willing to take advantage of any way to get more happiness.

I probably do consider pillage/repair, if not broken, cheesy (it should either take longer or be impossible in enemy territory).

Whew, this high level play requires a lot of thought. Let me see if I understand:

Bribe-and-DoW means to bribe them to attack another Civ, preferably a friend. Then immediately, in the same turn, Denounce and DoW the Civ you just bribed? (Or is a Denouncement necessary?)
So bribe Rome to DoW someone (not Siam, Russia, China, England or Morocco) then bribe each of the others (Siam, Russia, China, England, Morocco) to DoW someone not in that list.
Then we Denounce and/or DoW them all? And it doesn't matter how much gold it took to bribe them because we'll cancel the deal by DoW?

I checked the save again - England has no gold so they might not even be worth DoWing, unless Lizzy's willing to give up York. Same with Russia.

Denouncements are more important when you're doing this to 1-2 AIs and trying to vilify them. In that case you're looking to start a chain of denouncements and get the "denounced the same civs" bonus with multiple AIs. I don't know if the bonuses for denouncing different civs stack, my guess is they don't.

In our game I think the best diplo strategy for us now is to make all AIs hate each other more than they hate us. So it's probably not worth denouncing those leaders anymore. Let them denounce each other.

And yes, bribe Rome to DoW as many civs as you can, including Siam and others. But the important ones are the Zulus, Sweden, India, and Rome's friends and neighbours. Then DoW Rome to cancel the deal, get the gold back and do the same thing to the next AI.

Coal is available in 4th ring N of AA. There is an unassigned worker nearby, since that is where I was heading him.
I don't really see anything else to do with that worker until our borders spread to some hills/cotton near Gondar, but do we need coal? We have a lot already, is it sellable after someone has ideologies? (I know we don't want to sell it to them before they have an ideology)

Monte will DoW some neighbors for cheap. But he'll DoW other Civs for expensive. Any reason not to use the bribe DoW trick on him too?

And Shaka will attack more people for cheap, like Sweden. Any reason not to do that?

Monte will DoW some neighbors for cheap. But he'll DoW other Civs for expensive. Any reason not to use the bribe DoW trick on him too?
At the very least, I think you should wait for the three Archeologist to finish.

The FLeas will tear up Shaka's units, but I don’t think they are enough to take healthy cities. We have no ranged support. And you will be on two fronts.

I would rather have 4-6 of our UU upgraded to GWI first (on top of the FLeas) and Plastics would be pretty quick after that.
Interesting that we all seem to have different opinions of what is a "broken" mechanic.
I was thinking about this more. I think “broken” might just be the right adjective for how you sell singleton Iron/Horse for 2 gpt. My games where I was early denied a Pantheon, and so went for a quick Liberty finisher for a GPr — that feels broken. Broken might also be a fair adjective for how weak Honor and Piety are as compared to Tradition and Liberty.
For me, I don't see how paying 2gpt for an AI OB is broken but its not broken to DoW an AI then making peace a few turns later and they pay you 50, 60, 70 gpt - even when you haven't fired a shot at them and are no threat whatsoever to them.
This “peace deal” exploit is new to me. Broken might be a fair adjective, but it is a bit tricky to set the stage up and pull it off. You read @Tiberiu article, so you know.

One-way-OB is trivially easy and OP. I would argue that “broken” is a fair adjective for that.
I guess I don't try for CV's and so only use the buy OB to explore or for Ideological Pressure happiness.
Right, you don’t have have to be going for CV to notice how one-way-OB is a cheap and easy way to mediate happiness problems.

The effect of open/closed borders is not broken. The broken part is that the AIs will sell you one-way-OB so cheaply. If the AIs were programed to only trade OB, you would have to make more interesting choices.
And since I hate the happiness mechanic in Civ 5, I'm willing to take advantage of any way to get more happiness.
I agree that the happiness mechanic in Civ5 is tough. But I kind of like the challenge!

No, I wouldn't attack Shaka. I'm talking about Monte, The Aztecs. Our scout in the new world might get killed but that's about it.

I went ahead and played 10 turns because I was on a roll. I did have to exit to the main menu every couple few turns because my video card was making noise. At first I thought I wouldn’t even be able to play because my screen started blinking out some of the map. I had turned off Anti-Aliasing before so I turned that back on to 2X and the blinking stopped thank goodness.

T181 1210AD. Moved Spy from Lalibela to Lhasa and PtP them. Disabled auto-faith purchase because maybe we want to save up for a GE which is only 1000 and Pagoda is 600.
WWII starts. I did the Bribe/DoW move on Rome, China and The Aztec – bribed them to attack every Civ they would agree to. Siam wouldn’t attack anyone for any amount.

Interim. Too many denouncements to count. Sell Pacal Sugar for 3 gold because he’s always a nice guy. Discover Chemistry. Set beeline to Replaceable Parts. Our Scarcher was killed by a Chinese Musketman.

T182 1220AD. Buy Public School 182 in Laliabela. Archeologist digs up an artifact.

Interim. Genghis denounces us. Baghdad captured by Shaka.

T183 1230AD. We get a knight from Valletta. Vote against Incense embargo.

Interim. Trade embassies with Genghis. Incense embargo fails. Embargo Mongolia fails.

T184 1240AD. Kill a Roman Caravel with our Caravel in the southern Indian Ocean. Buy PS 184 in Axum. Archeologist born, send to island off the east coast. Propose World’s Fair.

Interim. Pachacuti reaches Industrial. Arrrggghh, Rome captures Valletta, no longer allies and lose all the bonuses! Discover Metallurgy. Rome adopted Order, guess we’ll never be friends with them again.

T185 12150AD. Bulb GW because golden age about to end, pick Cultural Centers in Aesthetics. Shaka has Rifles. Food ship to Adwa.

Interim. We get Rifling. GA born, guess we’re saving the GA’s to get 3 in Modern for theming Uffizi?

T186 1260AD. Discover Old Faithful. RA with Ram complete, guess it’s a good thing he wouldn’t attack anyone, I forgot to check this. Golden Age ends. Buy PS 186 in Harar.

Interim. Washington, Catherine, Ram all DoW Askia. GS born.

T187 1270AD. Make peace with: China for 40g and 43gpt. Peace with Rome for 76gpt. Sweet.

Interim. Oda enters Industrial. Russia and India friends. Askia and Shaka make peace.

T188 1280AD. Make peace with Monte for 86gpt. Then bought his Gems for WLtKD somewhere. Buy PS 188.

Interim. Gandhi bullies Lhasa – Gandhi?? I accept his apology because he’s one of the few people in the world who still like us. Oh well, I guess I’ll move that spy somewhere else.

T189 1290AD. Gems connected for Wittenberg, oh good, that’s where I’ll send the spy. Start building culture buildings since we got the 50% off bonus policy. Amphitheater in Axum and Gondar. Berringer Crater discovered.

Interim. Monte attacks Cahokia who we had PtP I guess, you bastard I tell him. Huns adopt Autocracy. Shaka notices our army amassed near his borders – you can’t be serious Shaka… I tell him our boy scout troop is just passing through.
Spoiler Really Shaka... :
T181 Really Shaka.jpg

T190 1300AD. Broadway built, start Observatory (we don’t have that yet!) in Addis, ready in 3 turns.

Interim. Steam Power discovered. Siam adopted Order. Replaceable parts in 6 turns. OB to Shaka and Pocatello ended.

After thoughts. I assumed we wanted landmarks in all those archeology sites in our borders, hope that was correct. @Nizef you have 2 GA waiting on the third I presume, 2 GS, 1 GMus. Workers basically building TP. One building a fort in the desert because Shaka. One down south waiting for the slow as molasses borders to expand to that hill. Sent two archeologists north into the Sahara to dig for artifacts before someone’s borders expand to the tiles. Gondar is starving because I assume the Food Cargo ship just stopped.

Edit. I forgot, Antananaverio has a quest for higher gold gifts, I was going to give them something after all PS's were built but forgot.
