...and then delete it after he replied, before a mod sees it.
It is also very confusing if people delete their thoughts later, after you already began to reply to them.
However, just about every forum that I've seen where you're able to delete your own posts only allows it when it's the last post of the thread. Of course, maybe VB doesn't have this feature.Originally posted by Alcibiaties of Athenae
Also, if you could delete your own post, you could delete a thread you started, and ALL the other posts in it.
OK, now you're confusing me.Originally posted by Strider
That is still proof... Yes they can do that, but what if the person decides not to delete there post after that? A mod could easily see what you tried to do.
What post? If the person made it up, there is no post to delete, and the person who made up the quote still wouldn't get caught, because there's a chance that the person being quoted really did say that, and then deleted his post. That is, unless we have the ability to delete our own posts only when they're the last ones in the thread, like I said, or if moderators can somehow see all posts, regardless of whether they've been deleted or not.
If we operated like that, I'd rather have a mod delete the RIGHT posts/threads than have a user decide what threads they think should be deleted or not.
