I just wanted to know if it is possible to delete cities, as in my current game (warlord level) I just planted a city only to find the germans had one two squares away, so I bribed their city andwant to get rid of it. I know that if build a settler/engineer when the city is at size one you candisband it but is there another way? Thanks.

I think if the city square has less than 2 food, you can make everyone entertainers and eventually starve the city out as well.

If the city isnt too big I just build settlers/engineers till its gone

Ive had to do this to a size 5 before,if you can spare 5 turns,it may be the quickest way.

I don't think the AI normally builds cities if they aren't on grassland or plains, both which give enough food.
No, but a couple engineers can quickly plant some trees on your city square, thus reducing it's food supply. It's not always the most efficient way to do it, but it's an option.

You may have to by some rows of shields as you build the settler -- if the city is surrounded by grass, it is easy to forget and then the city may grow while you're trying to shrink it.

If the city is yours you have to starve it or build settlers/engineers until it is size one and you get the question "do you want to disband this city?". If the city is not yours, killing defenders (if there are no City Walls) will decrease size by 1 each time, and capturing a size 1 city (above Chieftain level) will erase it.
