I'm playing a game as the Calabim - Order of blood, and damn, Vampires are FUN! My Small, but fierce, and OH SO HIGH LEVELED army of vampires are rampaging through that pesky human nation ruled by that outcast and oh so good elven leader. Oh yeah, Malakim. Soon their nation will be a people raised to be eaten.
Anyways, the vampires are REALLY good. Especially when you apply the vampirism to a Ritualist->Inquisitor->High Priest. I mean, you get high leveled mages with alot of summons and spells, for the cost of some unhappiness in a city.
What I do usually is grow a city to size 21-24, then stay with a unit with vampirism in each city, once the city reaches a point where it takes a long time to grow, and/or its unhappy, I eat a pop count (gaining 20+ experience each time). Then I do this for a while, and I will eventually have a unit with 200-400 Experience.
And the vampire lords, omg. I have to mention this specific one. I call him Slayer of Orthus. He started as a Blood Pet. Indeed he did. Many of his friends lives were lost in his accomplishment, but there can only be one. He climbed quickly in the ranks and he quickly became Alexis favourite pastime. In the end, she gave him the ultimate gift. Vampirism. Slayer of Orthus were now truly a vampire lord, not in name, but in spirit. He had to prove himself first, and prove himself he did. On the bloodred festival night of August 17 in the year of the new beginning, Slayer of Orthus was the most ecstatic and officially he was called Vampire Lord.
Before the Second war against Malakim Alexis apointed her greatest Commander to Slayer of Orthus unit of fine warriors, making him even more deadly.
Anyways, I think he has over 500 Experience now, and I am also trying to reach a record with the Host of Einherjar. Is there any record set yet? (Amount of experience/level reached before he is unsummoned).
Anyways, I dont want you to touch the balance of the Vampires much, but consider that the combination Inquisitor/Vampire is very good.
