Destroy corporate HQ

What happens if I destroy the city with a corporate HQ in it?
 
I'm not sure, but I would guess that the cities that already have the corporation would still have it and would still be able to spread it like normal. :dunno:
 
Why would you want to?

That depends on what happens. If the HQ can be rebuilt in another city that has the corp that would offer some interesting possibilities.

But, truthfully, it's mostly spite. Peter built Mining Inc three turns before my great engineer popped. Russia is a long way away and I have no real interest in capturing a chunk of the far side of the planet, but I would cheerfully burn something down if there were any sort of good result.

As it stands, I will eventually go burn it down just to see what happens.
 
I vaguely remember doing this in the past, when I did not notice that the HQ was in the city before I razed it. I think that the result was, without the HQ, no one got the income from the Corporation. However, the other cities where the Corp had spread still got the benefit from the Corp (for example food and culture from Sid's Sushi) and could still build Executives to spread the Corp further. The HQ could not be rebuilt anywhere.

Why don't you let Peter spread Mining Inc to one of your cities?
The HQ is a nice bonus, but it's all about generating more hammers when going for a space victory.

By the time he gets around to me I expect to have won, because he is a long way from me. I went with Creative Constructions and targeted a cultural victory. Now I'm about ten turns from popping (hopefully) a great merchant to start Sid's Sushi. If someone beats me to that I'll be really irritated.
