I was very busy yesterday, I'll try to get the maps for you today. I hope i'll find old atlas from school :)

BTW Good idea is to use differen 'Google Earth' like programs:
Earth Explorer - unfortunatelly it's a trial, but i jus made couple of screenshots and i don't need this program anymore.

Dapple - It's very good but it crash to offten (the version 2.0.0). There's fresh beta - i'll check it out :)

Dapple has also various maps types including resources (not all but many that appears in civ)

He's a good texturer. :p

If you look at certain parts of the truck (the metal part above the drivers seat for example) you can see traces of different images that you could probably get off the internet and edit it a lot (like decals or something on airplanes) or maybe he has special brushes in whatever texture program he uses for different objects. (meaning he customized the brush himself)

To answer your questions, the texture on the truck is 256x256 - sometimes I make my renders from the full texture size (typically around 700x700), but I didn't have to on this one. As for the texture, it's only partially mine. I use a set of templates for common materials, but parts of this one (the hood and bed sides) where taken from another texture I found online.

I'm actually not that great at making textures. I have a set of files I use to make the majority of my skins, just copy and paste the bits I need. I've gone as far as taking individual rivets from stock textures and pasting them in the pattern I need for the unit.

Just so my time online isn't wasted, here's a preview of the Tsar Tank everyone was talking about before. It's not quite done yet, I haven't had time to finish of the guns and animate it yet.

Hi All!

Some good news, the mod is coming along nicely. A lot of new units are done or started, as well as a lot of other key components. The best part though, is that it's playable - I'm working on the main map now that includes all of Europe. About half of the cities are already in and I should be done with the rest shortly. Right now things are on track for a winter release!

That's amazing for a 256 texture. :D I also use a lot of templates for my textures, I mean I could spend a couple of hours texturing some chainmail, or I could find a template and spend 20 minutes adjusting it to fit my texture. :) Much faster.

Oh, and that Tsar Tank is a real antique. Can't wait to see it in action. :p

Also, good news on the progress.
 
Yeah Tsar Tank looks beautiful :) It would be fun to storm the europe with those tanks :)
