[Development Thread]WW1 Mod: Blood and Iron

Well if you need any help uploading your work, just let me know! (wink, wink ;) )

I hope you get to see the bombed city set before you ship out smitty. It's done finally and win is shadowing it and exporting it soon I hope.

I don't get what you mean by this.

Is "win" some service you send your models to to finish up? Or what exactly?

winddelay, sorry. :) He understands shadows better than I.

So then that's a user of this forum that you send them to in order to complete the shadows?

At first I thought it was a program called "WinDelay," and then some type of online service that you could send models to to be shadowed,

Here's the bombed city set. I hope it was worth the wait. :twitch:

Looks good, Woodelf! But I think you should make it look grittier and dirtier. The bottom left example looks too clean for everything to have just been bombed.

I think the city is dirty enough, but agree the ground level stinks and I've never messed with the ground of a city. The models can only be so big or they overlap and look horrid so there has to be ground between them IMO. I agree that this Industrial road/ground does look bad for the set. A ground level with rubble filled roads would be killer.

Thanks Geo.

Thanks woodelf... I've got a couple days off so I'm working on artillery now. Right now I've got the french 75mm and 155mm, and I'm working on the German 7.7cm now.

You better release whatever you're working on before you take off for the sandbox!

I still have some work to do on the skins, and the animations still need some work (they're from scratch). If I can get those done, then yeah, I'll probably release them.

Along with the French 75mm and 155mm, I finished the models for the French 320mm railway gun and skin mapping, and I finished the model for the German 7.7cm. I'm hoping (and this is a big hope) that I can release some kind of artillery pack before I go.
