DGIT4-Maelstrom at Sea

Reporting in, shame this game died, hope we can make the next one a success :D

Oooh SmellinCoffee with the dagger to the chest. Ouch. Hmmm. Maybe I'll go and edit that post from February... Anyways, so what's our poison? Demi-god again? I say we give it another go.

I'd like to play emperor under different conditions, but I'm fine with whatever decision the team comes to. I tried to contact Alerum last night via Yahoo, but no reply yet. I guess we're waiting on Obliv and Blas?

Different conditions being? A variant of some sort? Or just a different map configuration? There are always the usual always war varients, or a take no guff game where we never give in to demands and if an AI takes a city we never stop before they are destroyed. Depends if we are looking for drawn out battle rounds or a relaxing buildiers scenario. I haven't played any of those so they could be interesting.

SC asked me to come 'ere and tell you where I stand...
Basically, since I'll only be lurking, I'd be glad to watch you guys do whatever... I don't really have a preference...

Alerum said he's out, so that leaves only a reply from Obliv...

As usual, we're a bit slow getting moving here and there's been no further discussion regarding type of game to play, etc. Its seems SC is into an emperor level game again and I'm into pretty much anything. A variant could be fun to generate a little interest from the team. Here's a link to a thread on variants... Variant Thread . I think the defiant variant and the 5CCC both could be fun. We could attempt these at emperor or even a level lower since the difficulty would be kicked up... Any thoughts?

Right now we're waiting on a reply from Obliv (at the moment, anyway). He hasn't been active since the fourth, though. Two ideas so far are a Russian game for Domination and an Ottoman game.

As for variants, I've tried the defiant variant and it's fun. Of course, I'm defiant in all of my games.

One other option I'd enjoy trying out is to play with the AU Mod. Its posted over at Apolyton. Its basically a bunch of minor tweaks to the base game to make the AI less predictable and more competitive. It looks intriguing to me. AU Mod. I know there is at least on SG around here using a variant of it concerning armies - AI armies!

Just throwing out ideas.

I play with the AU mod some -- I even participated in AU501, although I changed computers and lost my save when the old computer's motherboard fried.

Did you like it (the mod, not the computer :p)? I haven't had the time to give it a whirl, but it looks interesting to me.

Some aspects. I don't like that curraghs can't go into sea/ocean (marked as wheeled, sea/ocean marked as impassable to wheeled).
