Did the Rollout ruin your enthusiasm?

That's human nature I supposed, we wanted to be surprised, yet at the same time we don't want to know everything, I am following all these info dumps just to see whether there is something that will dissuade me from buying it before release, and so far, there's none (for me at least), next week's multiplayer reveal will make it or break it for me imo, so I definitely will check that out

I was disappointed they leaked the new civs/leaders not once but twice... It would have been far more interesting to get a first look per week without prior knowledge.

I'm pretty hyped honestly. I enjoy all the speculation and discussion regarding the "leaks", but the First Look videos were telling us what was really important: the Civ bonuses and abilities. So I didn't have a problem with both. And everything I've seen about the gameplay makes me want to play it. So nah, enthusiasm remains undiminished. If anything I probably would've retained significantly less interest in all these months since the original announcement if I had nothing to go on.

I must admit I don't get too excited anymore. I have, however, noticed that the more info that is made available, the more complaining seems to be generated regardless of topic.

I guess knowing nothing about the game is 75% of the fun. Remember when your friend showed you this new game called 'Civilization'. He couldn't explain it or compare it to anything else. Now we have practically played the game 20 times over watching youtube early releases before even install the actual game.

After todays live stream I'm done with watching any play throughs I'll just wait for the game to come out

actually no, more the opposite, from the start while everything sounded good, but well we have been there before and the Art in those first screenshots was a lot to take in, but the more we heard about it the less concerned I got. Now I am still wary of the AI and multiplayer but they are my only concerns left

I'm the same, bring on Friday

i actually wasn't spoiled too much by the leak and in fact i get a kind of nostalgia already for the first look videos when i hear the american theme

No. I was very excited at announcement, posted a lot first month, then I went on to do other things while paying attention to the slow drip drip Civ reveals and the rush of information these final few weeks.

Definately haven't followed it as closely last few months, but a lot of my expectations were met (Diplo victory axed) and predictions dashed (Religious VC is in) but I think I had a good grasp of where Ed & Co. was heading with it with the initital batch of reveal data and what we've seen so far has met and then exceeded expectations.

The mechanics are very interesting and I am definately hoping there is a good core game there to build on for the 1st expansion.

Even graphics looks leaps ahead of Civ5, just in terms of quality and fidelity. That graphics thread from the reveal is kind of moot. The recommended GFX card requirement says a lot; For reference Civ5 ran on a well above rrecommended spec on a GFX card 5x less powerful than the current recommended card. GTX 260 (above Civ 5 recommended) vs GTX 770 (Civ6 recommended)

When I first started looking at the released media, it was with great excitement and curiosity. This carried through to the early game play videos as I got used to the graphics and basic concepts that make it different from Civ V. Once the preview streams started, I watched first to learn everything about the game mechanics/processes that I could, then to see how to best play it. I feel pretty confident now that I can play the game from the outset, with trips to the civpedia as needed to answer specific questions. Mind you I said play the game, not master it. Still very excited & curious about the modding side of the game and how that will be implemented. I have high hopes but time will tell.

Agreed, probably will go straight to King difficulty just to surprise myself again, hopefully

Since the leaks only revealed names, not gameplay, they didn't hurt my vision of the game at all.
Didn't the leaks nail Russia pretty much to the bone?

I'm not going to be able to get the game straight away but I know exactly what you mean, OnceAKing. I haven't even finished one single LP because it is really not fun AT ALL seeing how bad Prince is. I'd rather discover the game for myself instead of watching the AI being a non-factor. But, I agree, the leaks were also very annoying and even more so when some of the UAs, etc feel very uninspired and not really creative, tbh.

Anyway, I look forward to discovering the game for myself and also to better LPs, some that are actually a challenge!

Not really. It did ruin my enthusiasm for this forum somewhat, however. It made me realise how autistic, whiny and annoying a lot of people here are.

As for the game I went from mildly sceptical to fully pumped by now. I have preordered long ago and can't wait for the release date.
