Hey,

is there a routine in Civ 3 you can mod which changes the AIs preferences concerining diplomacy? Like how likely they are to trade cities and such like?!

They're very unlikely to trade cities -- I'm not sure if it's possible, but I've never seen them accept a trade. About the only way you can get an AI city is as part of a peace treaty, and under no circumstances will an AI give up a city if any gold is offered as part of the deal.
I don't think the AI's diplomacy algorithms are editable.

First, AI's will only trade cities in peace negotiations, no matter what, there is no way around that.
Regarding your question there is the AI-to-AI trade rate which determines how much the AI's will trade amongst each other compared to the how much they will trade with the human player. But that does not affact how likely they are to trade with the human player or how much they are willing to give in a deal.

I came up with this due to things that happened in history.
I was wondering. I mean, it was usual as a part of diplomatic relations that you could force another nation to give you certain cities in order to maintain peace, like Hitler did, or like the colonial empires did.

I've been able to demand cities form the AI (generally only Carthage will give them to me though)

I try to give useless cities gained from flips back, but it seems they don't want them, so I give them to a civ that likes me least as a present.
