I've been trying to win Diplomatic victory on Warlord difficulty level. I have passed all the bills now I"m just trying to win it!

Everyone is voting for me but Alex (who is my competator). It says I have 462, Required 316 of 791 votes but I"m still not winning and don't know why.

I need help!!!!

well there are two different votes. if it's the UN, there's a vote for the Secretary General, and a different vote for Victory. the 316/791 votes needed means it must be the SecGen vote, since you need more than 50% of the votes to win the game, so i think that's the confusion.

same with the apostolic palace if you're playing BtS, there's the resident vote to see who leads it, and then there's a different "Religious Leader" vote that can let you win (or lose) the game.

the vote for SecGen comes up i'm not sure, every 4 voting cycles or something, and it's the only vote option when that happens. the other times, there's a long list of bills that you noticed, and the victory condition vote you're looking for is on that list.

good luck, and welcome to CFC :)

Thanks

I am clicking on the Diplomatic Victory option though I think. It is on the one with the list of the others so...I'm so confused.

Those numbers must be for the Sec gen, not the diplomatic win, as you need well over 50% to win the victory.

If the only one who isn't voting for you is your competitor, you've got a bit of a problem, as they're never going to support you. Based on you having 462 votes out of 791 in your favour, you probably aren't that far short of the victory, so you could try pushing up your population to boost your proportion of the vote. A more effective alternative would be to invade Alexander, pushing his population, and so votes, down.
