Diplomatic Relations

Nobody else have Rep? If so, after trading with MIA, our continent will have monopoly on republic, and I dont think that it's good idea to sell it to others

it might not be that bad to trade it to the other continent, if they have anything worth trading for. They have had a lot of WW points adding up, so I think that the benefit of republic would be offset by the anarchy and WW. But I could be wrong.

If the other continent has cash we could trade Rep for Poly, cash and an agreement for Construct if MIA does not send Poly. Possibly add in 20 turns of a lux once connected to other continent.

I like that idea Slinger. I think we could work that out with Donut. With TNT here are a few thoughts....
  • They research monarchy for republic.
  • Take a risk of getting their free tech in exchange for republic. If it happens to be our first MA tech we'd be out of luck. I think we'd beeline on the lower half of the tree. 25% chance they'd get the same tech.
  • Trade construction or poly plus ??? for republic.

I'd suggest to trade rep for polytheism and construction (they will give it, when it will be researched). Then we may turn off research, while they are researching construction, and use it to cash-rush GS's or buildings.
Also we may trade rep for poly to one team, and for construction to other team, if nobody will give both techs for rep.

I maintain my view that we should keep rep from going overseas for as long as possible. Thing is, MIA might sell it as soon as they get it, but it's hard to tell what they could get from TNT/Nuts in excange. MIA are tech supremos and the only ones with MM, so no trade routes are available.

Once we go to war with MIA we almost have to trade Republic. They may not be able to get lux from the other continent, but they could get cash or even an agreement for military cooporation. I know it would be awhile in coming, but if MIA could hold out and the others get themsleves in gear the 3-way dog pile could be ugly.

We should start feeling TNT and Nuts out diplomatically. Cooporation with one would be nice, keeping thier noses out from both is a must.

This is a fight between the 'Green cousins,' its family business. None of their concern. In fact, let us know what agreements our lighter-green therefore slower-witted cousins have made, and we may be able to honor them...

THAT should be our line, or something like it.

While reading some other posts - are there any other deals/agreements between KISS-MIA that I should know of?
If you haven't seen it, then the mail we sent to MIA 2 days ago would be important to know of:
Spoiler :
Dear Friends of the Green Continent

We have recieved your proposal regarding the trade for Republic, the quest for knowledge of Construction and the wish for peace.
Our teams have, since the dawn of the World of Meleet, had a very pleasant and beneficial relationship. A relationship that has been built on trust and honour. We've had, and still have, the possibility to gaze over the vast ocean and behold the misery created by aggression and feeble minds. We assume neither MIA, nor KISS, would want any of that on our prosperous continent. We also have arranged co-operation in science that are soon to pay off to our mutual benefit.
We regard the deal for Republic a grand finale of the above mentioned partnership and, thus, an end of previous made agreements. We would like to maintain a friendly relationship, but also to make way for each team to stand on their own when they decide to. Therefore, the proposed agreement sent by MIA will not be signed by KISS.
If MIA feels this stance makes the deal for Republic impossible to carry through, please notify us.

Best Regards
Team KISS
In it we say that the deal for rep is, for us, the end of previous agreements and that includes the peace deal with a 10 turn notice. This was then underscored in my chat with fe:
fe3333au: how does that effect the 10 turns warning to being attacked ... I
consider that still to be the case ... am I correct
sixpackholiday: It means that we consider the previous deal ended
sixpackholiday: and yes, with it all other arrangements
Now, you could say that we cannot cancel the deal without their approval, therefore I added:
sixpackholiday: theoretically yes, maybe, but I think admins should have a close look on our agreement
sixpackholiday: in practice maybe one side cannot nullify it
sixpackholiday: without breaking it
If MIA contact you about this, you will have your say on it and maybe we'll have to call it off, but KISS is not interested in admins view. It's MIA's call.
