I'm trying to install a PCI Radeon 9250 w 256megs into my computer, but I'm having trouble disabling the onboard video on my motherboard. Uninstalling and disabling it in windows via the device manager doesn't cut it, as it shows back up after reboots. I've also disabled it through the BIOS to no avail.

That pretty much leaves jumpers on the mobo (I think). But I've moved twice since installing that board and haven't found which box has the manual. Any ideas on figuring out which jumper it is?

Specs:
1.1ghz Athlon
~400mb SDRAM
Win2k

It will be an option in the BIOS somewhere. Just look through there until you find it.

I've already disabled it in the BIOS. It wasn't enough.

I've not encountered any that had to be disabled by jumper, but it may be that way for older boards I guess...

You're going to need to know what model your mobo to have any luck finding which jumper it is.

Actually, it looks like you might be right about the BIOS.

In the last hour I've determined that my board is a PCChips M841LR, downloaded and read the manual. It says nothing about a jumper to disable the onboard video.

I had made one change in the BIOS, there's an option for how much shared memory to allocate to the video card, and I had selected disable. There's apparently two other settings that may have an effect on it as well.
