Disabling throne room

Is ot possible in Civ2 (I don't know what version I have if there are several) to disable the annoying pop-up of the throne room? It's nothing but a pain as far as I;m concerned

Under the "Game" menu select "Graphic Options" or use Ctrl+p. There you can find an option for the throne room.

You don't like the throne room? I love making the most absurd combination possible... fancy throne in a cave with a dirt floor, or pile of rocks in a fancy, carpeted room!
