disbanding cities

how do you disband a city?

Enter the city screen, and use Ctrl+A and select the appropriate option.

I pressed ctrl+a in the city screen and nothing happnened, can you show pics.

I don't have the game up atm, but did you double-click on the city? You have to double-click on it to get into the actual "City screen", not just the bit underneath that lets you add to the build list.

Ah, then I can't be of any further help, as I've never disbanded a city. Sorry.

I waited a couple of turns and then went into the city screen and disbanded a city, a screen poped up saying schoose building to be domolished. when I clicked okay the game crashed, why? also just to make things clear, I want to get rid of a city meaning to clear it from the map and have it turn into a setler. I have only one city.

Therein lies your problem.
You can NEVER demolish you capital.
Its just simply not possible.
You can 'abandon city' with everything else, but the option is not possible with your capital.

You can move your capital and then demolish it though.
