To much of the chagrin of many of the combatants, the Sacred Fist strode confidently towards the arena, cracking his knuckles loudly. Many had wanted his opponent to be the Ronin, but they hadn't musted enough of a show of strength to succeed. His foe, the Void Walker, tapped two metal bands around his bare forearms, and began to walk through the crowd, raising more then one startled exclamation players. Or at least they seemed to be metal bands, as the blackness of this flesh seemed to identical to the runed patterns on his armaments. For all they knew, they could have been moving tattoo patterns. It would not be the first time this tournament had brought something impossible into plain sight. With a look over his shoulder at the lovely Mage Masher, and a wink, he was off into the gate, passing through Pinman on his way. Pinman was not long behind him, and there was a snap, crackle, and a pop, and all they could see was blackness.
Pinpoints of light appeared over the combatants, casting a very dull and lackluster illumination on them. No one could be certain as to who was who, until one of the combatants pressed his hands together, and his palms began to glow slightly, gaining in intensity. Pinman looked at the barren landscape, potted with craters and coated with gray dust. LightFang tapped his bands again, and slowly raised his hands, one hand holding a blue flame, and the other, a red flame. Silently, he hurled the globes of fire straight at the Sacred Fist. With a leap, Pinman sped off into the air, bounding much higher then he did in his last battle at frightening speed. LightFang's projectiles seemed doomed to miss, until with a lurch, they switched direction midair and sped up, colliding with the Sacred Fist, and then engulfing him in a green blaze. As Pinman fell to the ground, the inferno ceased, and he rose, robes charred and burns visible on his face and through the holes in his robe.
Still he pressed on, this time taking to the ground, plowing at such speed that in a normal environment, he would have kicked up clouds of dust behind him. But, alas, he did not. The Void Walker conjured again, and suddenly a gigantic box of ice surrounded the Sacred Fist, bars in the walls. Unable to slow his progress on the slick surface, Pinman was sent careening straight into the wall of his prison, and such was his momentum that he bounced off the wall and rebounded, finally lying flat against the back wall. Looking up, the Sacred Fist saw large pointed lances of ice aimed downward at him. LightFang clapped his hands together, and Pinman began to fall. Upward. Struggling to slow his ascent, but unable to maintain a grip on the ice, he watched with a calm countenance as he saw what awaited him. With a might kick, he shattered on of the bars of the prison, and with another, a second bar fell. But this was not without cost to the Scared Fist. Each attack left razor sharp blades of ice embedded in his body. A third attack, and he was able to slip through, flipping outward and back out, landing gracefully on his feet. A downward punch, and the whole of the ice cage shook, and then fell in on itself.
LightFang conjured again, and for a moment, nothing happened. The Sacred Fist plodded forward, much more cautiously this time towards the Void Walker, some 50 meters away. Still nothing happened, but a small smile touched the Void Walker's lips. Ripping a large shard of ice from his side, Pinman hurled it at LightFang, who merely tapped his wristbands again, and the projectile harmless pass through him. Tink. Tink Tink. Tink Tink Thud. The Sacred Fist glanced behind himself, noticing several craters that weren't there before. As he turned to face his foe again, he was caught in the back by a falling hunk of solid rock, knocking him prone, face down in a cloud of dust.
Pinman slowly climbed to his feet, and once again raced towards LightFang. The Void Walker raised his hands, and a storm of glowing balls of lightning appeared between himself and the Sacred Fist. The air crackled with energy, and Pinman charged headlong into it, flinching as he impacted each sphere. Still he pressed on, never slowing, and in a moment he was upon the Void Walker. A quick body blow was all the Sacred Fist was able to land before LightFang tapped his armlets and returned to the void.
Pinman swung again and again, but his fist merely passed through LightFang. The Void Walker conjured again, and this time the ground split under the Sacred Fist, who fell. Just managing to catch himself with one hand on the ledge, he hung there. LightFang seized the moment and stepped over to him, stomping on his hand. With a mighty kick off the wall, Pinman flipped upward and locked his legs around LightFang's shoulders, knocking him to the ground. With a series of quick blows to the face, the Void Walker's face was left looking like something a small child who got over excited with a red crayon would draw. As LightFang attempted to once again return to the void, Pinman shifted and caught both of his hands. With both legs secure around LightFang's neck, it was now only a matter of time. LightFang attempted one final spell. A ball of fire engulfed both the combatants, but still Pinman held fast. As the struggling started to subside, Pinman held fast, and time quickly ran out for the Void Walker. He kicked one final time, and was still.
The battle ended, and both contestants returned to the real world. Pinman rose up and strode off, his second victory weighing on the minds of the contestants. He would need new robes now.
