DLC Steam Badges

Nah, I already have a basic achievement for Anglo-Saxon England, replicate the results of the Battle of Stamford Bridge and recapture two originally English cities taken by Norway. I'm going for as close to historically accurate as possible; it's actually pretty fasinating how little the other blokes tried to actually take England compared to William.
For example, Sweyn didn't really bother, he was busy keeping Hardrada away from Denmark and failed for the most part. He only went for England after the pleads of Godwinson's brother, then literally sold him out the minute he landed. It's why Denmark has the 'Lose as Denmark' objective; 'Don't bother, just like Sweyn did!'
:goodjob: 'She'll be right mate!'

I like a lot of these. I'd like a set of achievements for building a particular Wonder in a given city (not necessarily as the city's original owner - after all, the current Great Mosque of Djenne was built by the French rather than the Malinese - although each civ should only have one 'Wonder City' at most).

Examples:

Build the Forbidden City in Beijing
Build the Great Mosque of Djenne (Gods & Kings) in Jenne
Build the Hagia Sofia in Byzantium (Byzantines in the expansion)
Build the Eiffel Tower in Paris
Build Chichen Itza in Chichen Itza (Maya in the expansion)
Build the Great Library in Alexandria
Build the Colossus in Rhodes

etc.

Since it seems there are only 29 new achievements in the expansion, and at least 18 of these will be themed to the new civs (Win the game as X, plus another), I doubt we'll be seeing a cycle of these, however.

I've had to take a hiatus from this last week as my net went down. I'll be continuing with these ideas and others from the community.

[bump.] A small bump today, no major improvements. I have however decided to be more general in some of the achievements, and as a result I'm reworking the Conquest of the New World English conditions;
Hiawatha needs to remain at peace with Europe as a whole, as opposed to England and France.
Malietoa Savea needs to capture four general cities, as opposed to four Tongan cities. City-states do not count.
Harold Godwinson needs to recapture two mainland cities from any of the other three contendors, as opposed to just Norway. But as a balance both cities need to have been from the same player, and be reclaimed on the same turn.
Alexander needs to rase any city-state to the ground on either the historical map or the random map, as opposed to sacking the city-state of Troy on the actual map.
And Ramesses II can capture any city from any nation and declare peace with them afterwards, as opposed to recreating the victory of Kadesh and offer peace to just the Hittites.

The Manchu conditions do not change. Seoul still needs to be eliminated before and including Beijing to meet the conditions of the achievement.

[BUMPBUMP!]
Finally, new work has been done to the Scenario achievements, adding one more completed badge to each DLC; 'Great Peace of Montreal', 'Son of the Tangaloa', 'Gone Berserker!', 'Tokugawa's Revenge' and 'Beyond 2000 BC'.

The Great Peace of Montreal was a treaty between the Iroquois and the French, at the time the Iroquois were along at peace with the English. The Tongan king 'Aho'eitu is known in Tongan mythology to be a decendant of the god Tangaloa ʻEitumātupuʻa. Tangaloa is an important lineage in Polynesian mythology. 'Gone Berserker!' takes reference to a particular part of the Battle of Stamford Bridge, where one of Hardrada's berserker warriors was reported to have killed at least forty of Godwinson's housecarls single-handedly. The achievement asks to kill 40 Huscarl units with as many Berserker units you can spare, though if a person CAN get one of their units to count that high, that would be very impressive. 'Tokugawa's Revenge' is in reference to the fact that Toyotomi Hideyoshi - successor to Oda Nobunaga - and his failed invasions of Korea and attempt to stop the Ming Dynasty seriously diminished his reputation and his clan's influence enough that after the Battle of Sekigahara Tokugawa Ieyasu - the original leader of Japan up to Civilization IV - became Shogun in 1603. Finally 'Beyond 2000 BC' is simply taking note of an inconsistancy. :goodjob: Well done guys! :goodjob: Way to screw it up! :goodjob: Badly! :goodjob:
