Do AI take in account Market, Est India Company in the choice of trade routes?

Anyone know if AI is more likely to set up trade routes with cities which have already built Market or East India Company? Considering that those buildings increase trade route owner income, is it a factor AI take in account or trade routes are chosen randomly?

It looks like the AI cares about max income to itself; with an exclusion of if its not liking you; it won't send trade routes to you.
It doesn't appear to care how much money the other player would get.

Judging by my games, AI almost never sends trade routes to the player when it has any other options.

I've seen this as a mixed bag. Sometimes Civ's will send routes and sometimes they won't. Having higher gtp for the route always helps but it's also a factor in whether the Civ's like me, if their trade routes can reach that far, if Barb's are in the way, and so on.

The choices the AI makes don't always seem sensible. I've seen a civ send a cargo ship to the least profitable city when I had 2 coastal cities that were candidates (the other city would have had a greater resource diversity, and it was even closer). There must be a random element.

EDIT: I've just started a game and here it's even more striking. Sejong sends me a caravan. He can choose between Rio, São Paulo, or my newly founded Brasilia. You can guess where he sent it to...
And he could have better used a cargo ship as well. It's not that he doesn't have Sailing, because he built the great Lighthouse in Seoul one turn before Harald took the town.
