Do two minor pieces worth a rook?

In the middle game I would take the pieces unless I had strong open files against my opponents king I could dominate with the rook. In an endgame I would choose the rook hands down against N+B or N+N, B+B on the other hand would be preferable to a rook. Simply Knights suck in the endgame, and are not very useful in open positions where rooks and bishops dominate.

The technical answer is no if someone else hasn't already said it.

We like to use numbers like 3,4,4.5, and the like.

Speaking of two bishops versus a rook, I was wondering what you guys thought of the position after White's 33rd move here.

The game itself isn't great (got distracted, got into time trouble, found myself in a d4 opening I didn't quite know how to play from the white side, more excuses, etc.) but when I was playing that game, I thought that I was almost dead lost at move 33, and if not for the black blunder near the end (or if he had played 39. Bb4+) I would have lost for sure, but now I'm just really unsure. The locked pawns aren't too conducive to the bishops except for those annoying mate threats he kept on getting.
