Do you dislike work-related 'social-relations'/networking?

I hate how I can never tell if I should tip the bartenders at the open bars the bar associations have. That and the canapes served are so good that I either feel like I didn't get enough or that I was a huge pig for camping out for them.

Oh my God, it is just the worst.

For those that dislike the "fake-ness" of these conversations, why not try having them without faking enthusiasm or interest?
 
So instead of pretending to be interested, pretend that you don't have to pretend to be interested? An intriguing concept, but I think the practical application may have some hiccups . . .

I don't like pretending. Furthermore the OP is about money-relationships in work. Those can be unpleasant if the other person is alienating.

But don't worry, if you pretend something, it already means you have the spiral for endless iterations of pretending. You just are better off not examining it, much like walking does not force you to dig to the core of the earth :mischief:
 
Yes, since usually nobody ever talks about stuff I find interesting.
