Do you find your games repeating the same pattern?

Playing random leaders helps keep the game fresh for me. I would NEVER choose an aggressive Civ to play with voluntarily, as I am more of a turtler/builder, but being forced to use an Aggressive leader helps to expand my knowledge of the game and keep it fresh.

This is what I do also ... I tend to play a particular style ... or, more accurately, a particular style of play is well suited to me and warmongers (for instance) isn't. Let's say I have a wishy-washy semi-culturual, wanna-be warmonger who likes to sit behind her own castle walls and mind her own business, until I run out of room or get bored.

With that in mind, I tend to play very similar games, only varied by terrain, starting location and civ ... so I play 'random leader' *all* of the time and sometimes spice things up with a different map type and/or scenario ... the HIGHLANDS, for instance, is really good for a change of pace.

Yeah, it's easy to play a game without fighting at all, but only against the AI.

When my buddies and I play multiplayer, I HAVE to fight, so, playing as a Civ that I wouldn't normally choose during singleplayer is a big help.

yup... random civs, random maps... or if you're really bored, try one of the scenarios or the one-city challenge. I tend to play a OCC every 5 or 10 games to break it up a bit.

Well, I've been playing the game for about a month now, and the thing that disturbs me most is the rigid AI characteristics. Like, if you start with Alexander or Napoleon somewhere near you, you know you're going to war with them sooner or later which takes a lot from the fun. Seriously, I've never been able to get on well with this guys. Also, if you see gandhi or quing (?) around you know you gotta rush for the wonders as quick as you can. Therefore I suggested someway to have civs leaders change during gameplay, in this thread.

I'm not hopeful that it'll get into the game, but something must be done to prevent this "deja vu" happenning in the game.
