I think either a "most recent save" of all saves (auto/quick/normal save) or just a "most recent of normal save" would be a nice addition :D

i could do that, but keep in mind, that Launcher doesn't check whether savegame actually is RifE game and whether savegame isn't broken by current mod/modules

Uh.... Have you checked the newest version? Both are in.

Both are accessible from the 'Edit Ini' screen. As are boxes for PyExceptions, Logging, and CheatCode. :p

No, I haven't :p
Good to see anw listens to me :p

:goodjob:

hehe..
yes. but that's for the player to know.
Why would someone load, with RifE launcher, a last game... that is not RifE ? (well, only if you tried some other game just before... but shouldn't happen often :/)
I play RifE (or civ) by hour or half-hour periods. so I generaly have 1-2 saves for my last game. well, maybe I sould just learn to use the quick-save

Like it, but PIE!!!
on a more a serious note, I gave it admin privileges, but I've been getting some errors trying to edit mod load order when I try to commit changes
too lazy to fix it when I can move them by hand, and I don't have them in front of me ATM, but I can get the specifics if you want

@northeaster345: well ... IMHO, I already said all ways I know how this problems can be fixed, so ...

Note: When I first installed RIFE, the launcher did not work. It wasn't until I rebooted that I got it to work. I'm not sure if that was due to the reboot or due to loading the game via the normal methods before trying the launcher. But, now the launcher works fine and I like it.

(Running XP Pro, all kinds of python/.net/whatever gimcrackery it'd want to use already installed as well.)

I havnt clicked I dont like it yet... but thinking about it

I dont like how I launch the game I have to wait for that to come up and click launch again before I can want out of the room to get a soda or whatever. Could you add a check box that enables/disables a 10 sec countdown then auto launches the game?

The launcher is neat once to set up mods etc, but having to use it every time is an annoying extra step.

I don't really see it as too large an extra step (single extra button press), but a checkbox like that would be a decent addition.

You don't think twice the normal effort is a lot? Every yes/no decision you add doubles the number of ways things could go wrong.

In general, I hate launchers and any extra steps I shouldn't have to do. I usually edit the shortcuts to by pass them.

Some launchers, like the RifE launcher, add extra functionality; but most amount to nothing more than a splash screen that I have to click through.

It's not like it's difficult to add one more shortcut that actually runs the game.

Yes, it doubles the normal effort... But when the normal effort is a single button click, I'm not terribly concerned.

The RifE launcher adds a LOT of functionality; The trade off is well worth it.

Like I said though, being able to toggle an option to autolaunch the game is not a bad idea. Hell, if we really wanted to we could have the installer create multiple shortcuts... But that just adds clutter.

Thank you.

It isn't the effort that is annoying to me its the wait.

CURRENTLY on my system Civ4 takes 5 min to launch the first time I open it after a reboot. I mean I have time to come on here and read 4 or 5 threads before the 1st splash screen even comes up.(all mods not just RiFE) After that 1st time, like if I CTD it launches MUCH faster.

I have gotten used to launching Civ then finding something else to do like start a load of laundry, get a soda, use the rest room, whatever. The launcher Means I have to click the icon then wait 10-15 seconds before I can click the 2nd button to lunch the game.

The real problem here is in that 10-15 seconds I already left the room and come back 5-10 min later to see the launcher waiting on my stupid "rearend". So I have to do it all again. The timer will make my brain farts much easier to handle.

Yes the launcher adds a lot of functionality but I find it is functionality that I only use once every 50 times I launch the game.
