Does anyone have any recoomendation for decent free MMORPG's?
If you don't mind cute things, Maple Story...

I used to play WoW, but gave up after about two months (approx. 12 full days of play). Exploring the world is fun, but ultimately there's no skill to it. A level 45 will never, ever defeat a level 60.

I'm thinking of starting to play a MMORPG. What is best out there?

try
www.mmorpg.com
in general what ever is top in there is a good bet at the time (historically speaking anyway)

I played most all mmos I liked Lineage 2 the most because the fact that it took so long to level made everyone use teamspeak and you got to actually know everyone in your clans voice ...makes for much more casual talks when your like "HEY turn to comedey central quick !@!!" ....AND HEAL ME

as far as mmos compared to PnP rpg ...yeah theres a long way to go but will see

Thank you for the site! :thanx: I will get down to finding a good one now.... my ideal of a good MMORPG is Unlima Online....
so far I've played Project Entropia and Runescape.... tried a couple more for 2-3 hours, but did not like them much. As you can see I was a F2P person....

I used to play Everquest. I tried several classes and eventually got a character to about level 53 or so (I had tested other classes before then which took awhile). At some point while leveling that character I noticed that the enchanter class would have been the most interesting to play as (charm extremely powerful and interesting NPCs). I eventually decided to quit them game (takes a long time to level up even if you play as a class that can solo well). It took too much time and there was no real reason to start an new character ever again.

I have avoided playing any online RPGs since then. The amount of time needed to make progress in Everquest was excessive. Although other online RPGs may have faster level up rates they still probably use up a lot of time. I tested Dark of Age of Camelot a bit as well.

I have not been able to play Civilization 4 for more than a few minutes at a time until today (I acquired it about two weeks ago or so). It seems very interesting (a lot better than Civilization 3 as well as 2) however I suspect I need a new video card to speed the game up.

I played a Persistent World module (somewhat similar to MMORPG) in Neverwinter Nights for awhile, but got bored with it after time.

I am an online gamer. At 42 years old I have played almost every MMORPG out there at one time or another. Here is a quick list: Everquest, Everquest II, Anarchy Online, WoW, City of Heros, EvE, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, Horizons, WW II Online and Planetside.

And thats just the MMORPGs. I play Battlefield 2 a lot to get my FPS fix in as well. I love telling young kids they just got owned by a 42 year old guy.

^ which one did you like better?

I'm playing Urban Dead right now if that counts

Me too. :)

Best thing about it is that it doesn't look like a game at all. I could play in at work right in front of my colleagues or even the boss. :D
