Always on.

Since I use it to calculate borders, movements, city location, bombing ranges, artillery ranges, etc., etc., etc., why bother to turn it off?

Watercolor terrain? That's awesome! Where do you get that, and do you have any screen shots?

Yep - here's the thread.

Or you could download the modpacks from Warpstorm's sig - it has a Vanilla/PtW version, and a Conquests version.

Only for dotmaps, and for doing stuff in the editor.

Agreed
+ some more characters because someone decided you may not create short and simple answers but they rather want us to spam the board with long meaningless scentences merely to satisfy the forum AI who likes to count the characters in a post and complains when it thinks there are too few.

Edit: Sloppy me voting in the wrong category. Always off >> usually off.

I fixed that....:)

I usually play off for a long time, then I'll play on for a long time....depends, really. But right now, it's usually off. Well, more off than on, at least.

Usually off, turned on when I can't seem to focus on counting the tiles and then back off.

These results have really surprised me. I thought most people would play with the grid on, but I see it's just the opposite.

Usually off. I get used to where tiles are and find it unnecessary and visually unnattractive. I do use it for calculating city placement and other such matters.

Always on, helps me plan movements, city placement, and all around do everything.

I Always have it off, it gives me a more natural feeling.. so it doesnt look so flat.. however sometimes i need to turn it on if i need to do some complex moves and stuff.. hmm but that is rare.. i get kinda used to having it off, so I see the distance of moves and so on when i drag the mouse.
