Just wondering, I never do, unless my stupid troops sack it!!!

I should have. I got hit with not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, but eight flips in the GOTM!

only blitz late game, or when the city is in a terrible position

It depends. Here are some situations in which i prefer razing instead of capturing:
- The town is in a bad position and needs to be relocated (i.e. abandoned and rebuild one or two tiles away)
- The town is in a bad terrain and won't produce enough money or shields. Corruption is going rampant because of too much cities.
- The town is undefendable, or will likely flip (say 15 resistors near the enemy's capital)
- I need workers.
- I ate junk food, my stomach is protesting and i'm in a bad mood...
- My girlfriend ditched me.

I look at my victim civ's culture compared to mine. If they are behind, then the city lives, but most of its citizens die. If I am behind significantly, I burn it to the ground. That way, I see very few flips...

i always raze.i dont want to win by domination or risk fliping,so i just raze.i leave a city or 2 in the center of former AI empires though as a base to use if the other AI's land in the area etc

Don't you get a hit to your relations with all other civilizations if you raze a city? I captured a couple of cities and starved them to death, building a settler to abandon the city...

Normally I like to take over the city. But in special cases I do raze, so I had to vote "sometimes" although the feeling is more like "no" ...

I only raise citys if I am fighting a war with some one and losing. I get really mad and raise ever last one of their cities I may take  (this usually isn't many).

Yes. Abandoning a city with at least 50% foreign citizens also harms their attitudes. But it seems like everybody else hates me even if I capture their cities (I voted sometimes, by the way). Maybe it's the warmonger in me. I probably should raze more, especially when everyone else is disdainful of my culture.

Not very often. I only do it if I feel I'm not likely to be able to hold on to it. I voted sometimes to cover that ground.

Sometimes, when I take a city with 2 citizens in the middle of a desert...I have no choice. I'd rather get that territory through cultural growth than have a city sitting there.

That's about one of the best situations to keep the city! Virtually no chance of flips... Also, a city is a city. Culture takes too long.
