Do you roleplay, and if so, how do you?

[..] when playing as a neutral civilization, I influence my own decisions based on my neighbors. If I'm surrounded by evil civilizations, I tend to play like them, bringing on Armageddon and focusing on Chaos/Death/Shadow mana. If I'm surrounded by Good, I play into that role instead.

Well ... I thought it's survival instinct

How do I roleplay? In one word (ok maybe its not a real word ;)) - suicidaly.

I like to play out the lore traits of my civilization, which usually works fairly well since many mechanics actually encourage that. It is usually in diplomacy that I mess things up. My Bannor aren't going to strike any deal with ashen veil members, my Khazad aren't ever going to give in to a demand for gold tribute, and me Elohim just don't declare war. In general, I don't attack my allies, fellow religion civs, or close peaceful neighbors. This stuff turns out all right about half the time, but a lot of the time it turns ugly.

The thing is, I find that I like roleplaying whether it turns out good or bad. Whether my nation ends up in glorious victory or colossal defeat I like it to have been a good story.

But sometimes I like doing crazy out of the ordinary stuff too. I remember one old game where my Sheaim discovered an Empyrean disciple from a dungeon before turn 50. So we founded Empyrean and saw the light. I went through the rest of the game avoiding pyre zombies, all gate units, eaters of dreams - basically anything that an Empyrean people would object to. Instead I had a massive ratha and radiant guard army that I used to pummel the forces of evil to see the light of their ways. Or at least tried to. Sheaim minus about half of their units were just a bit weaker ....

I´m new to FfH2, but I must say that it almost forces me to roleplay. Which to me is a totally odd sensation playing a Civ game.
Kudos to Kael for such an awesome back story.

Now back to my ole 40z game and the budding romance between Arthendain and Brigit. One could almost like the pointy eared elven bastards, for providing him with the needed experience. HarHar.

I roleplay, I didn't at first though(I didn't know what Empyrean was,so I adopted it when I was playing Calabim in my first game -_-)

Yeah,it kinda hardwires your brain at the end "OOOH OOH I AM HANNAH THE IRIN, MUST ADAPT OO OR DIE!!!!" kind of thing yousee.
