Do you still play vanilla Civ?

Since discovering Fall from Heaven, do you still go back and play non-FfH Civilization 4 (with or without Warlords and/or Beyond the Sword)?

As for me, I've gone back once or twice but, after FfH, vanilla Civ seems rather dull. And I think that's saying something since the Civilization franchise has been my computer-gaming mainstay for over a decade.

I went back briefly when BtS first came out, when I first bought Warlords (a complete waste. I got it because I could I'd left my Civ Iv disc at school over christmas break and thought it would let me play FfH wiht vassals), and when I lost everything on my hardrive (I was at home and stuck with dial up, so I couldn't download FfH for a few weeks), but thats about it.

I do occasionally play other mods though.

Well I rarely play Vanilla civ. But occasionaly I get so frustrated with the FFH2 AI that I have to play Vanilla civ (BTS) to get a somewhat decent AI experience. Otherwise I only play FFH2. I'd say that 1/30 new games are Vanilla. I think the AI is the only area where Vanilla trumps FFH...

That would have been my choice, but absent that, I had to choose 'practically' never.

In all honesty, I rarely play ANY other games (PC or PlayStation) since I discovered FFH2.

Haven't played vanilla since I found FFH... so it's been over 1.5 years now? Maybe I should go back and give it a try. It just seems so linear compared to FFH2.

Kael's sig was pretty accurate in regards to BTS. I'd have never bought it otherwise.

for the most part i play FFH2 but i still enjoy going back and playing BTS i mean i still need tanks guns and nukes ect. every once in a wile

Yes, I only play Fall from Heaven occasionally.
FFH2 is a very nice mod, but mostly for multiplayer, in single player it does not provide the challenge that Vanilla Civ4 provides.

I don't play vanilla Civ anymore, but I don't play exclusively Fall from Heaven, either. If I'm playing and it's not a FFH game, I'm playing Rhye's and Fall. (Also a wonderful mod.)

This is my option too. If I do sneak in a non-FfH game its usually to play another mod, not to play vanilla BtS. I played a lot of vanilla BtS during the BtS beta, so its not that I dont like BtS, I just already did that.

I play 50% FfH2, 50% Vanilla.FfH2 has a lot more in terms of content and gameplay but Vanilla still offer a better balance so it offers a greater challenge.I'm sure that when FfH2 is finished i won't play anymore Vanilla.I play only single-player for now.

Being a big history fan, I really do love Civ. FFH is very cool though and I enjoy that as well. Can't wait for 1.0!
