I am very surprised I was unable to find anyone complain or at least ask about this here.
Anyway, I'll provide a solution to it
You are annoyed by this:
I bet Microsoft has indirectly caused billions of kittens worldwide having been slain due to anger simple because the option "Keep the current color scheme and don't show this message again" does absolutely nothing.
So, here's how you stop this crap from appearing (should work for other games in the same wasy as for CiV):
1) Right click on the shortcut of the game and select properties:
2) Click on the Compatibility tab, check "Disable desktop composition" and click OK:
Done. This basically disables Aero whenever the game is running and it's the only way to prevent this from showing up all the time.
(PS: Your PC doesn't have to be all that weak to suffer from Microsofts annoying and useless help attempts, do not blame it on the hardware!)).
