Ive noticed that it always seems the aggresive civs such as alexander, monty, or even louis XIV (he doesnt not aggressive trait but is a warmonger!) always hate the peaceful builder civs like egypt, korea, or india.

Ive always seen people like alexander always hate hatsupset. I have not played a game where alexander liked hatshepsut even if they had the same religion.

Anyone else notice this bias towards relations with AI?

Another example in my current game, theres a bunch of warmongers and they all hate Wank Kon. Wank kons ONLY friend right now is cyrus.

Its kinda funny to see all the war mongers declare war on him i admit.

The vikings have declared war on him 4 times already and its just the rennescaince.

Wang Kon and Hatchi are most of the time peaceful builders, like Ashoka, so they tend to be weak on the power graph, and their cities may harbor some wonders that, Monty or Alex thinking, they don't deserve to keep if they can't protect them correctly. I would do the same :p

I guess wong kon is the one that gets the most hits,in a game of mine vikings declared war on them, then louis then alexander.NOBODY else declared a war in the whole game except on Wang Kon.
And that war wasn't even due to religious allies, each one of the civs that declared war on Wang kon hated each other, vikings were christian,Alexander was jewish and Louis was buddist, that was sort of wierd.

I have noticed that in the beginning of the game where normally the human is pretty much cautious with everyone, the ai nations among each other have developed relations in some way or another. I guess that is just another way of saying what you're saying ;)

I remember now that both religions and open borders agreements had appeared at the stage of the game I'm talking about. So my post above was a waste of bandwith entirely - deceitful even.

In my latest game, at start the civs had the same attitude: +1 for peace. But they liked some more than others...

No. No they don't. It's just the way the different charactors interact.

No, this is not true. I notice some civs at the beginning have the same relations (+1 for peace). However some are annoyed at others and some pleased with others and they ALL have the same relationship stats.

While taking the screenshot for my avatar I went into world builder and placed units of each country in the same place so they met eachother. Even though all of them had a relationship of 0, some of them were annoyed with one another.

There are no predifune desposition, but there some factors like warmonder respect and posible reaction on demand maked by other civ.

That might modify neitral predesposition to create some inclonation to sertan relationships. But because other factors, like religion, border tension, et.. exist this inclonation does not garanty bad or good final relationships.

Some civ ai's have different attitudes based on the overall relations between one another. For example, I've noticed peaceful civs will be pleased with you just because you two have [+1 Years of peace]. On the other hand paranoid Toku will still be cautious with you when you have overall +3. So if they have the same relations, they might not neccessarily have the same disposition.

The values of these relations are also dependent on the civ. For example, Ghandi won't even care if you reject his demands! (last game i rejected all of ghandi's demands like, change your civics or stop trading wiht bitter enemy but no negatives at all) On the other hand, Isabella will hate your guts if you're another religion, while Ragnar couldn't care less.

yes i agree with ecp it depends on the leader on how what determines your relationship like religion or trading with an enemy and if someone please tell me if they EVER had better than cautios with Tokugawa becasue i had +4 and still no change not even open bordes agreement

You can become friendly with Tokugawa, it's just very hard. You either need to agree to his demands when made (however unreasonable), take on his religion, or trade well with him and give him gifts. Once you get to Pleased, he should agree to Open Borders, and you can bolster the relationship further.

The one game where I did become friendly with him, my religion spread to him and he took it on, thus becoming friendly enough to Open Borders. You just have to be really careful not to anger him. Even the normally small "Your borders are too close" or "You refused to cancel deals with our worst enemy" hits can upset Tokugawa long enough to break things off.

And then you realize that you've just traded with everyone's worst enemy. @.@
